" There he is!" a voice shouted out. " Shit..." Alex cursed, as he ran down the alleyway, pausing only to hoist himself up and over the fence. He landed on the ground and continued running. Who would've thought that the guys he had happen to pass by were members of a gang? Well, they were harassing a girl, and it was already evening. And honestly, they looked like they'd wouldn't understand if Alex came and took the girl away from them, which he did, right in front of them. As he watched the girl disappear around the corner, he looked back, and saw all of them scratching their heads in puzzlement. To Alex's utter amazement, one figured out what had happened, infuriated by his loss of prey, began chasing after Alex angrily. Naturally, the others followed after him like a stampede and Alex found himself running for his life.
Normally, Alex would take out the whole lot of them, but this time, there were more than Alex could handle, try six of them. Alex continued running down the alley, and heard the rattling of the fence behind him. Taking a quick glance, he saw to his utter dread, all six had scaled the fence and were in hot pursuit of him. " Don't let the punk escape!" one shouted, " We'll make him pay for that!" " He's dead when we get him!" " Shit shit shit shit SHIT!" he cursed under his breath, taking a sharp turn into another side alley. He then continued taking turns here and there, all in the effort to lose all six of them. After taking too many turns to count, Alex stopped running, breathing hard.
He moved into a nearby side street, hoping that he managed to lose all six of the knuckleheads, or they all split up in an effort to trap Alex. If they did split up, one on one would be a lot easier than six on one. Alex leaned against the brick wall, breathing hard, hidden in the shadows. As he stood there, he heard a voice. " Haven't seen him yet. He gave us the slip, but we'll find him. Punk can't have gone far. When I find him I'm going to..." The idiot never managed to finish his sentence, as a fist came flying out of nowhere and clobbered him right in the face, sending him stumbling and falling backwards, the fall knocking him out cold, as his head connected with cold concrete. " Jake? You there? Hey Jake! Answer me!" a voice blasted out of the cellphone still in the guy's hand.
Alex bent down and took the cellphone. " I'm sorry, Jake isn't available right now, care to leave a message?" Alex said, speaking into the cell. " What the...? Who the hell is this? Where's Jake!?" " Didn't you hear what I said, Jake isn't around, so leave a message." Alex repeated again, as the guy on the other line began ranting. " I'll get you, whoever you are!" " I'm sure you will." Alex said before he ended the call, and dropped the phone back on the unconscious guy's chest. He then straightened up and proceeded to walk away, if it were not for another guest who appeared. " ? " was Alex's reaction, a confused expression forming on his face. " Is someone there?"

Reira walked down the dark street that was only illuminated by a small street light situated on the corner of the road. Honestly she had lost all track of time and was surprised when she saw how late it was. Reira had spent the evening at a locol restaurant. She needed sometime away from her family, it was really stressing her out and she just needed to escape from it all. Even if it meant sitting alone in a small booth for hours.
As she walked in the cool crisp air, she began to shiver. She was only in a thin black band shirt and a red plaid mini skirt, complete with her favorite knee high black converse. She cursed herself for not bringing a sweater, but as stated before, she left without much thought. And without much thought, she continued to walk, not really observing her surroundings. It was only when she felt a cold hand grasp her shoulder and throw her roughly against a building wall that she snapped back to reality.
In front of her was a group of six men. They looked to be in a gang or something and seemed very dangerous, especially with the smell of alcohol on their breath. "Hello little lady, you look a little cold," the one who pinned her to the wall said. By this point in time, her brain was functioning at a rapid pace. She was scared out of her wits. She wanted to scream, but her throat felt parch and dry. "Yeah, allow us to warm you up," another of them said. Her eyes widened in fear then.
Self defense..upper hand thrust to the nose, forcing the bone to jab upwards and kill them, poking them in the eyes with my finger and of course the classic kicking them in the balls. But there are so many of them..I don't know what is going to happen to me..I need to work on that scream.
Before Reira could release a frightened scream another boy, that appeared out of no where pushed her out of harms way. She didnt knwo who he was, but he looked familiar. She wanted to help him because she knew that they gang members would hurt him for obviously helping her, but her body had a mind of its own. She found herself running from the scene, dissapearing behind a corner.
After she felt like she ran a marathon, Reira leaned up against a building, her chest heaving to catch her breath. Her mind had finally calmed down a bit and she could think better now. The next choice to make was to call the cops, which she would have done if she had a cell phone and was anywhere near a phone. Her mind kept wandering to the dark haired boy that had saved her. Being as stupid as it was, she just had to go back and see if he was alright. Picking up a small metal pipe she found in an alley way, she raced back the way she came, this time hiding in the shadows of the buildings and keeping quiet.
Maybe this was a bad idea. It's really dark and I don't know where those gang members are. Reira was slowly walking backwards, senses on high. It's very quiet.. "Is someone there?" It took all her will power not to scream. Turning around quickly she came face to face with the boy that saved her. Letting out a breath she said. "I'm so glad they didn't get you...um..thanks.."

Alex turned around and found himself face to face with the girl he had saved minutes ago, she looked a bit freaked out. "I'm so glad they didn't get you...um..thanks.." Oh. " Um, you're welcome." Alex replied, spotting the metal pipe she was clutching in her hands. " Were you going to hit me with that?" he asked amusingly, a smile playing on his face. " I'm Alex, and your name is?" he asked the girl, as he looked at her, he was only a couple inches taller than her, so she didn't have to strain her neck to look up at him.
Before he could get an answer however, a gruff voice interrupted their conversation. " Yeah, I'm sure Jake came this way, we were running together till we split up. Yeah, I'll make sure to find him, that punk, and whoever it was that knocked Jake out." The guy turned the corner and came face to face with Alex and the girl that had escaped their clutches.
" You!" he shouted, after seeing Jake, who was still knocked out, " You..what...you..." the guy stuttered out, looking like he was about to go on a rampage. " I what?" Alex answered calmly, looking like this was something normal. " You..You die!" he shouted, running right at him like a mad bull. Alex calmly moved to the side, as the guy ran right past him in his rage. " Missed me." he said casually.
He then turned as the guy came back around again, but this time Alex was ready, he took careful aim, and ducking underneath the guy's punch, he landed a uppercut right in his chin, lifting him up off the ground slightly. Alex then unleashed a punch right into the guy's gut, making the guy bowl over in pain. Alex launched another punch, sending the guy backwards. As he stumbled backwards, he tripped over Jake and fell backwards, his head hitting the ground, knocking him out. Alex then turned to the girl, and smiled almost sheepishly. " Sorry about that, so, where were we?"

Reira looked speculatively at the metal pipe she clutched tightly in her hand, and then back to him. Knowing her, she probaly would've hit him with it, if she didn't recognize who he was. "Probably not. I guess I just picked it up to feel safer." Even if the thing did make her feel safer, her ability to use such an object would definately be an interesting sight to see. "I'm Alex, and your name is?" She was just about to open her mouth to answer him when a voice to her side, silenced her.
It was a very rough voice. She immediately noticed that it was one of the gang members from previously. It only seemed to be getting closer to their location, instead of going away, much to her distaste. Before she knew it, the gang member turned the corner and was standing infront of Alex and herself.
"You!" The gang member has said with a shock. He seemed to be pointing at a body that laid still on the cold ground. Reira didn't notice the knocked out guy until now. Serves him right. Her attention once again focused on the guy who looked extremely incredulous and very pissed off...and Alex seemed perfectly fine with it. Almost as if this was an everyday thing for him.
The next set of movements all happened very fast. The dude apparently charged Alex, who dodged perfectly, and retaliated with an impressive uppercut, followed by a series of quick punches. With in no time, Alex had the guy out cold.
Reira just stood there and watched the whole thing. She suddenly felt very pathetic in the pressense of Alex. "Well," she said throwing the pipe away. "Won't be needing this." Seeing the move Alex just unleashed on the guy made a pipe in her hands look useless.
"Sorry about that, so, where were we?"
Reira let out a small laugh. "I'm Reira. Nice to meet you. Thanks again for helping me out." She really didn't know what was going to happen next or if more gang members were going to show up. At least she was safe for now. It was probably best for her to get out of this area to somewhere more populated. She didn't want to become a burden to him.

"Probably not. I guess I just picked it up to feel safer." Probably not? Did she mean to say she'd actually would've hit him? Ouch. After Alex had pummeled the intruder to a pulp, he saw, much to his amusement, the girl look at the pipe and throw it away. "Well, won't be needing this." After the ruckus had ceased, Alex finally found out what the girl's name was.
"I'm Reira. Nice to meet you. Thanks again for helping me out." " No problem." Alex said, shrugging his shoulders again. He then tensed up, as gruff voices shot out. He was getting very tired of this, and honestly, he had enough punching for one day. Taking hold of Reira's wrist, he motioned for her to keep quiet and follow him. Behind him he heard voices shout out, it was probably members of the gang, and they were most likely trying to revive their unconscious comrades.
He ran down a alleyway, turned around the corner, and after much criss-crossing through different alleyways, emerged out on the main road, cars driving by. He released Reira's wrist and looked up at the sky, the sun was slowly setting on the city. " Sorry about that sudden 100-metre dash, but I honestly didn't feel like taking on a bunch of idiots." he explained, looking at her.
" If you don't have anything to do, want to go somewhere?" he asked her, his hands in his pockets. " Since we're here anyways. Well the idea sounded okay to me." he said quickly, shrugging his shoulders, honestly, he didn't have anything else to do, the four other idiots would probably give up looking for him, what was the point? Alex would probably be long gone by the time their comrades woke up, which wouldn't be for a long while. All he could do now was wait for her reply.

"No problem." She heard him say, but it wasn't long after he had spoken that she heard the voices of the remaining gang members approaching them quickly. Reira sighed inwardly as she shunned the world for allowing such stupid people to exist. She had felt Alex grab her wrist and drag her forward, telling her to remain quiet. Didn't have to tell her twice. The thought of seeing the gang members once more for the evening wasn't exactly thrilling.
He had led her through a maze that consisted of alleyways, turning corners and plenty of criss crossing. She found herself paying close attention to her feet. She didn't want to trip and look idiotic. After a few more turns, he finally released her wrist. Reira almost bumped into his back because of the sudden stop.
When she finally caught her breath, she realized they were on the main road. Finally out of the dark! "Sorry about that sudden 100-metre dash, but I honestly didn't feel like taking on a bunch of idiots." Reira returned his gaze with a slight smile. "There's nothing to be sorry about, the 100-metre dash was a very very good thing!"
"If you don't have anything to do, want to go somewhere? Since we're here anyways. Well the idea sounded okay to me." The question caught her off gaurd at first. It was surprising that he actually wanted to hang out wtih her after she had caused him so much trouble.
Grinning she said "Sure. This night has been more then interesting so far, so why not? Just promise me that there will be no more dark alleys!" It wasn't that late in the night, and its not like her dad would be worried too much about her. She was used to staying out quite late.
"Where do you want to go? The cities a big place, there's lots to do.."

Alex turned his head sideways only to look surprised as he felt Reira almost crash into his back after he had released her wrist, he had a feeling she was glad to be out of the alleyway, since she took the run as a good thing, even smiling at him. "There's nothing to be sorry about, the 100-metre dash was a very very good thing!"
Well alright then, if she said so, then it was all right, he guessed. Alex was even more surprised when she accepted his offer to go somewhere, even though she herself looked surprised, perhaps she thought he didn't want to hang out with her, since she had caused him trouble and he had to "rescue" her from the trouble?
Actually, he didn't mind hanging out with her, hanging out with someone was better than being by yourself."Sure. This night has been more than interesting so far, so why not? Just promise me that there will be no more dark alleys!" Alex smiled slightly at her answer, and nodded his head. " Promise, no more dark alleys, and no more gang members." he said, a smile playing on his face. They were on the main road, which was lit up quite a bit, and people were walking around, so they were safe. "Where do you want to go? The city's a big place, there's lots to do.."
Good question. There was lots to do, and so little time. " Well, do you want to see a movie? I'm pretty sure we're too young to get into a club anyways." he said, looking like he was thinking. " Or if you don't want to see a movie, we can go somewhere else." he added, there was so much to do and see, but so little time in the day, well, the time that was left anyways. Honestly, Alex didn't mind doing whatever Reira wanted to do, even though he did ask her if she wanted to go somewhere, he'd rather do something she wanted to do than do something she didn't like.
He stood in front of her, waiting for her to reply, as the sun began to set slowly, the few remaining rays of light disappearing, only to be replaced with darkness and shadows, reflecting the shadows of the heart in people.

Reira's facial expression turned to a ponderous one. She was thinking of things that they could do. All the things she could think of seemed rather boring and all the other things that had some potential, she dismissed for various reasons. The best idea was so catch a flick. There was a theatre not to far from where they were and she was sure some intestesting films were playing.
"Well, do you want to see a movie? I'm pretty sure we're too young to get into a club anyways." he said to her. " Or if you don't want to see a movie, we can go somewhere else." Reira couldn't help but look amused. "I was thinking of watching a movie to. The cinema is a couple blocks down this way, shall we go?" she asked, inclining her head for him to follow.
As the sun setted, the city began to illuminate istself with bright neon lights and other colourful light sources, but even with these, shadows and darkness still conquered the majority of the area.
Walking to the cinema was primarilly uneventful. The only problem for Reira was manuvering through the many people that shared the sidewalk with them. It didn't bother her, but it was becoming quite tedious and she was very happy when she finally stood by the cinema doors.
Infront her of were the many posters of what was currently playing. "What movie should we see," she asked Alex. "There seems to be a chick flick, a comedy movie, a horror gore flick, and your average action adventure film. I'm up for anything..except the chick flick.."
She would leave the choice up to him. She hadn't seen any of these movies, but her favorite type of films were action adventure and horror. Her and Simon had seen a lot of movies in there times, most of them being horror and she had yet to watch a horror that has ever scared her.

"I was thinking of watching a movie too. The cinema is a couple blocks down this way, shall we go?" Alex turned his gaze, seeing Reira incline her head for him to follow, which he did. He walked beside her, his hands firmly planted in his pockets, though a few times, more than he can count, they were separated by a group of people, which began to irritate him. After making his way around a particularly large crowd of people, he reached the cinema doors, finally.
Right behind him came Reira, and they took some time to see what movies were playing currently. "What movie should we see?" he heard her ask him, as his eyes ran along the posters hanging on the glass. "There seems to be a chick flick, a comedy movie, a horror gore flick, and your average action adventure film. I'm up for anything..except the chick flick.."
Alex couldn't agree more, he hated chick flicks, comedy wasn't really his thing, so it was either a horror movie or the action adventure. He grinned, he had already made his mind up after seeing his choices, it wasn't that hard.
" I'm up for trying to get scared, how about you?" he asked, grinning at her. The horror movies he had seen, and believe me, he had seen plenty, had yet to scare him, he really wanted to find one that would give him a good scare, but so far, none had accomplished that. Walking up to the line in front of the ticket window, he pulled out his wallet, and counted out enough money for the both of them. He had plenty left if Reira wanted popcorn and drinks and all that.
As they slowly moved to the ticket window, all around Alex, streetlights turned on, illuminating patches of the sidewalk, above him, bright neon signs blazed full force. " Welcome, how may I help you?" Alex heard a voice call out, he had reached the front of the ticket window.
" Oh, two tickets for The Strangers." Alex answered, handing over the money and taking the tickets. He walked back to Reira and handed her one of the tickets. " Here, let's go in." He then turned and pushed the door open, holding it open for her to go in before he went in himself. It's movie night in the city folks.
OOC: I picked a horror movie that was playing where I live, hope you don't mind.

"I'm up for trying to get scared, how about you?" Reira grinned in response. Horror movies were just her thing. She hadn't seen The Strangers yet, and had major doubts that it would actually scare her. If anything, she would laugh at the stupidest things and find that she would be the only one laughing, it had happened often enough. "I'm down, let's see The Strangers then!," she said with a certain sparkle in her eyes. Even if scary movies didn't scare her, she still enjoyed seeing them.
Their decision made, she followed him to the ticket booth. The tickets weren't that expensive, but she still felt bad for making him pay! Her hand instictively went to reach for her purse, only to find that one wasn't there. Her shoulders drooped.
Right I left the house in the rush... Debit card is on the kitchen counter..
Alex walked back to her and handed her a ticket. "Here, let's go in," he had said to her and politely held the door open. She followed him into the cinema, trying not to get lost in the crowd of people.
"Thanks for buying my ticket. I would've bought myself in..but I forgot all my money at home. So, one day, you're going to have to let me repay you!" she said to him with a matter of fact tone of voice. She meant it to. She would repay him one day, whether he liked it or not.
Not wanting to make him spend more money on her, she passed the concession, heading directly to the movie. Of course, she would wait patiently if he wanted to get snacks, all he had to do was ask.
She flashed her ticket to the ticket guy and walked right into the darkness of the theatre. It was pretty packed, but she managed to find two seat situated directly in the middle. What was even better was that no one was sitting in front of them.
"Excuse me," she said to a man, as she made her way down the row of seats. When she finally made it to her seat, the previews began. She then turned to Alex. "If you get scared, tell me and we can leave early," she said with a laugh.

"I'm down, let's see The Strangers then!" Alex couldn't help but grin at her enthusiam, this would be one movie night he would not forget for a while. After buying tickets, they went inside, although Alex saw her shoulders droop when he had paid for the two tickets, he guessed she didn't have money with her, guess she forgot her purse?
"Thanks for buying my ticket. I would've bought myself in..but I forgot all my money at home. So, one day, you're going to have to let me repay you!" " Don't worry about it, it's fine. Are you sure about repaying me?" he asked, but he knew she wouldn't change her mind, so he just let it go, no point in arguing anyways.
As they made their way to their theatre, Alex noticed that Reira walked right past the concession stand, he however, wanted to by a small bag of popcorn, not to eat per say, but for something else..." You go ahead, I'll catch up." he said, lining up. After a few minutes, he had a small bag of popcorn with him, and flashed his ticket to the ticket guy, heading into the dark theatre. After a few minutes to let his eyes adjust, Alex made out Reira, she was sitting in the middle, and the best thing, there was no one in front.
He made his way to his seat, saying a few "Excuse me's" along the way, and sat down in his seat right beside her. " Sorry for taking so long." he said, just as the previews began. "If you get scared, tell me and we can leave early." Alex couldn't help but grin, him, get scared? If anything, they'd probably leave early due to being kicked out for laughing, not being scared.
All the horror movies he had seen made his sister scared, but he just laughed at them. " Haha, we'd probably have to leave due to being kicked out for being so loud." he said quietly, grinning. The movie was about to begin.

Reira couldn't help but laugh slightly when Alex came to sit beside her. "Haha, we'd probably have to leave due to being kicked out for being so loud." It was sad but true, she could totally see it happening. "Let's try our best not to laugh then," she answered in a whisper as the place dimmed and the big screen infront of them brightened and the booming sound filled the area.
The audience immediately silenced itself, except for a few girly teens and their boyfriends. They couldn't seem to stop talking. If they didn't stop soon, she would have to borrow some of Alex's popcorn. Refocusing her attention to the movie, a voiceover was heard.
"The film you are about to see is inspired by true events. According to the F.B.I. there are an estimated 1.4 million violent crimes in America each year. On the night of February 11, 2005 Kristen McKay and James Hoyt went to a friend's wedding reception and returned to the Hoyt family's summer home. The brutal events that took place there are still not entirely known."
'Oh so this is a true story,' she thought to herself. 'Nice. More potential to be scary. But if this is a ghost story, it's not going to work.' The film continued. It was now a scene of a young boy sobbing hysterically to a 911 operator. He appeared to be lost and blood was everywhere.
The movie held her attention so far, she was interested. She glanced over to Alex to see if he to, was enjoying the movie so far. Even if it had just began..it couldn't hurt right. She noticed those people from before were still talking. Crossing her arms she began to ignore them. She was good at ignoring people, if she really tried to.
(ooc: I don't know if thats how the movie starts because I havn't seen it before, but according to wiki, it's right xP)

"Let's try our best not to laugh then." Alex couldn't help but grin at this, he'd probably have to spend most of the time stifling his laughs instead of watching the movie. As the theatre dimmed, the people that were talking stopped. Well, most of them. Some still talked, girly girls and their boyfriends. Cripes. If they didn't stop, Alex would have to start wasting his popcorn on them, but hey, that would be entertaining, to say the least.
He kept that in mind as the movie then started, and a voiceover came on.
" True story huh? Maybe this movie'll be better than the other ones I saw." Alex thought, as the first scene came on, it was of a young boy sobbing hysterically to a 911 operator. He was saying he didn't know here he was and there was blood everywhere. " So far so...not so gory?" Alex thought, taking some popcorn and eating it. So far he was interested, he saw from the corner of his eye Reira glance at him, guess she was seeing if he was interested in it. Well, he was, he hoped it would get more interesting.
As he continued watching, he heard the people that had been chatting away still chatting away. He glanced at Reira, and gave her a mischievous grin. Taking a small handful of popcorn, he took aim, and launched the popcorn right at them, which bonked them on the head. Bulls-eye! He quickly looked at the screen, and although his face was serious, he was trying very hard to stifle his laugh, if they started talking again, he would launch another round at them.
OOC: No worries, I haven't seen it either. So I guess it's right. *Wiki'ed it too XD*

Those blabbing idiots were still flapping their mouths 80 miles per hour. It was one thing to talk, but to talk with that annoying barbie doll tone was driving her insane...and their boyfriends...well Ken had another thing coming for him. She noticed Alex stir beside her. Her gaze falling on him, she saw his mischievous grin like it was plain daylight. Seeing the handful of popcorn he had, his plan was all to clear. Giving him a sheepish grin back, she also took a handful of popcorn.
Alex threw first, hitting all the targets dead on. The girls looked devastated that someone would throw something at her prescious hair. It was a kodak moment. The popcorn victims began to look around to see who it was who threw the food at them. It was all too funny. Reira had to bend her body, so that her face was hidden behind the chair infront her of her. She didn't know how Alex could hold back his laughter so well. Surely he found that funny.
Unfortunately for Reira, holding back her fits of laughter wasn't so easy. It started as a small shake of her shoulder, then a stifled laugh. Just before a loud laugh could errupt, she stuffed the handful of popcorn in her mouth. Perhaps it was a little too much popcorn. It was hard to chew and she had to pat her chest to prevent from choking, but at least she didn't laugh and give them away. A man beside her looked at her like she was insane. Shrugging her shoulders, all she could say to him was "I get hungry." He shook his head at her dissaprovingly and turned to face the movie.
"Nice shot," she whispered to Alex once she finished eating her popcorn. To her relief and some dissapointment, the people stopped talking slightly, the movie catching their attention. Her attention was caught to. It was about mid way into the movie and she had laughed quietly at almost all the scenes where the protangonist had almost been killed by the murderer. Not that she enjoyed seeing innocent people being killed, she just found it amusing at how stupid the main character could be sometimes.
She wondered if Alex was having as much fun as she was. This would definately be a memorable night.

Alex, before he had thrown the handful of popcorn, saw Reira look at him with a sheepish grin before taking a handful of her own. After he thrown and hit the group on target, he saw Reira was fighting very hard to stifle her own laughter, the only sign he gave her he was very amused by it was a mischievous grin. After a failed attempt to stop her laughter from bursting out, he saw her stuff the popcorn in her mouth, and he couldn't help but snicker quietly at this. The guy beside her was looking at her like she had gone insane, and the only thing she to him to explain this was, "I get hungry."
Alex snickered even more, keeping his snicker as quiet as possible, but he gave her the message that this whole thing was funny as hell to him. "Nice shot," he heard her whisper to him, and he whispered back " Thanks. That was worth 3 points." Sadly, the group that had been yakking away before stopped and were now watching the movie, no doubt when a scary scene came on, the girls would clutch their boyfriends in fear. Just the thought of it made Alex roll his eyes in dread, how cliched. Too bad, if they had kept talking, Alex would've chucked more popcorn at them, oh well, his fun was ruined. It was about halfway through the movie, and most of it was spent him stifling his laughter, this movie was not as scary as he had hoped it would be. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't the type who liked seeing people get killed or anything, but honestly, some of the actions the main characters did were just stupid. Honestly, how many times had he seen a scene where one person sees a scary house, and decides, " Oh, it's a scary house! Let's go in!" or " I'm all alone in a haunted house, I'm going to take a shower." Seriously, how stupid can they be? Would it kill them to use their common sense?
Well, if they did that, it wouldn't be called a horror movie now would it? Take right now. The couple are waiting in a hallway closet, waiting for the three murderers to come so the guy can kill them. Here's a thought, how about leaving the house and never come back again? Alex smiled slightly, this was one night he wouldn't forgot for a while, believe it.
