OOC: This is funny... cus I'm a music major IRL..... ^_^, and I'm guessing this means class is over? and sorry for the short post.....
Matrim quickly wrote down the words on a sheet of paper, making mental note to do his homework. "and.... got it." He quickly put his things together, gathered them up and asked the teacher, "Does this mean class is dismissed?"
Wow, hey, I got a whole sentence off to a cute teacher. Way to go Matrim. Guess that means you're just that much closer to being able to ask a girl out.
Matrim quickly calculated the chances of him being able to ask a girl out. They weren't good......

Alex joined in halfway through the second measure, right after Matrim had started, and his Epiphone Emperor provided the acoustic rhythm for the song. His fingers glided over the strings, putting the skills he had learned into use. His eyes were closed, he was concentrating, all that mattered to him right now was the song, nothing else. As he played on, he heard a piano join in, and he finished playing the four bars, the last bit of music resonating.
He opened his eyes, and relaxed his arms. He then saw Dr. Luyu walk over to the board, and write down a list of words. "Now, I shall write a few key words on the board and I would like you to take them home and study them. Next class there will be a quiz."Alex grabbed his notebook and pen, and wrote down the words. He closed the notebook and stowed the pen away. Gently placing his guitar back into the case and closing it, he picked up the case and placed it on his chair. " I guess class is over." he thought. He picked up the case and was about to leave, when he heard a voice call out to him.
OOC: Anybody can call out to him, doesn't matter who.

Luyu finished writing the words and then went to her desk, rifling through some papers. She wanted to also give them some sheet music before they left. Opening her mouth to tell the boys that class would be over momentarily, she looked up to see Alex leaving. "Alex." Luyu said commandingly, "Class will be over once you are dismissed, not beforehand." Her hazel eyes bore into him, taking in his oh so familiar features. "I want you to practice this piece as well, now that I have assessed your playing capabilities." As the boys left, Luyu handed them each a sheet of music that she decided would be quite a challenge. She didn't expect them to have fully mastered it by next class, but she also knew that they would be able to play it. "I'll see you all next time. If you have any questions about the music, the terms, or anything music related, you know where to find me." OOC: My roomate is a music major (vocal performance), and I almost was Also, the music that the students are giving WILL present a challenge for each and every one of them. It doesn't matter what your musical background is, you can never stop learning and being challenged. Remember that Luyu has been proficient in just about everything musical since before your character was born, so she can easily choose something she thinks will challenge you.

Alex turned and stopped, placing his guitar case back down on his chair, and gave a quick nod to Dr. Luyu. While her tone was commanding when she called him back, Alex expected it to be, though he was the Principal's son, he was no different than any of the other students here. In other words, no special treatment. "I want you to practice this piece as well, now that I have assessed your playing capabilities." Alex then picked up his guitar case again, and heading towards the door, took the sheet of music that she handed to him.
Walking out of the building, he took a look at the sheet of music, it looked quite challenging, once he got back to his room, he'd quite like to try it out. He made his way back to his room, his guitar case on his back. He was wlaking at a pretty moderate pace, if anyone wanted to talk to him, they could catch up pretty quickly.
OOC: I played piano before, and took music classes in high school, but besides that, my music knowledge is pretty rusty.

Joar looked up to Mrs. Kodiak as she told him not to do improvised music anymore and that it threw off the group. While she was right he felt kinda gloomy about it. He wouldn't speak up as he knew not what it would get him in regards to disciplinary actions. So he would keep quiet and speak to her after class.
He then took the sheet music and looked at what he had to do for homework. He wrote it on the palm of his hand as he would write it down on paper later. Alright, well hopefully this will go smoothly. He told himself inside his mind as the others started packing up and heading towards the door.
He packed up too and headed out behind the other boys but stayed back and turned to Dr. Kodiak. "Um...Dr. Kodiak, mind if I have a word with you?" he asked her carrying his messenger back over one side of his body with his violin case in his hand. He had put his syrinx back in the knee pocket a few minutes ago before they played the music.

Luyu had given her attention to the papers on her desk, writing casually to a colleague. She heard the footsteps stop in front of her desk, "Um...Dr. Kodiak, mind if I have a word with you?" Looking up, Luyu saw Joar standing on the other side of her desk, the boy who had improvised.
She leaned back and smiled at him invitingly, "What can I help you with, Joar?"

Joar looked at his teacher. She had acknowledged him nicely at the least. Or at least what seemed to be nicely. She didn't have to act nice to him as he was the one that acted out. He just liked to show off every once in awhile, make him look unique where others aren't. However his uniqueness did not lie in his Qi ability but in his musical talent.
"Yeah, Dr. Kodiak, I just wanted to say I was sorry for acting out. It won't happen again but, its always nice to add a little spice to the music it just gets dull and boring. You should know being the music teacher but that fire needs to be kept alive or all music will die into the mechanics and not the soul of the musician." he said, articulating poorly how he really felt about music.
He knew he would never be able to fully explain what he wanted to talk about something you feel strongly about. Never fully anyway, and if you did tell them that was how you truly felt you did not have the passion for it for words can never explain how you truly feel in the bottom of your heart.

You should know being the music teacher but that fire needs to be kept alive or all music will die into the mechanics and not the soul of the musician."
"Well Joar, having composed the piece that you boys played, I don't find it boring. Before one can call themselves a true musician, they must be able to appreciate all music, even if one thinks it is boring." Her hazel eyes seemed to size the boy up, "Now I am not saying that there is anything wrong with impromptu playing. I want to make that clear. I myself love to play the music that courses through my veins, and you should never let anyone stop you from that as long as you are playing at an appropriate time. During my class, though, you shall only play what I ask for. If I ask for you to play what you feel in your soul, then play it. If I ask for a b flat scale, then play it. Do you understand?" Luyu's tone was not harsh, but she wanted to impress her point on the boy. She didn't want to take disciplinary actions, but she would if it was necessary.
Luyu was a free spirit and she could sense that Joar was as well. She was also his teacher, though, and not only expected his respect, but for him to stay within the rules of her classroom.

Matrim packed his things got up and started to leave, he knew this class would be tougher then he originally thought. He wondered how his father put up with this crap. He absolutely hated sheet music. He found it limiting. Afterall, why is something heard on paper?
I mean, you should be able to hear it... not see it... unless your watching the instrument being played... and you should feel it.... cus of bass.... but that's about it if you think about it.
"Well, it was fun, I'll definitely be here next class!" Matrim said, he meant every word, he waved with his messenger back around him and carrying his guitar case which held the Guild his father had left him. He left the classroom and made his way back to his dorm to set his guitar off before going to his next class, singing to himself.
"and i stood proud at the gallery, with my open socket of a mouth for them to see, they all just laughed and said that boy he, that boys got woe...."

Joar stood there listening to what his teacher was saying, it was all true but still free spirited music was the best music he knew. He had practiced with his family and 'relatives' with organized music and he was always the one to do the solo as he could not only do it in the right amount of time but the speed he did it with like how Lestat in Queen of the Damned played crazy fast when he was with the Aegean on the beach.
He gave a sigh and a nod. "Understood. So when WILL we be able to play impromptu music? Or when will you test our overall skill in playing music?" He asked her giving her a cool gaze. He had noticed the ice on her tongue but had shrugged it off as he was used to talking like that. Mainly from his mother and elder sister.
He had to agree he was in the wrong for that moment in time but whats life without a little danger and life on the edge. I mean come on he has been to hell and back. Well not necessarily TO hell but the lowest level of it for sinners of minor priority. That was how he got his first demon and learned to become a summoner. Most thought he was a warlock and would destroy them but to him it was just a sign that there truly was magic and the occult out there somewhere and he had living proof.

Luyu had looked back to the papers on her desk, but the woman's eyes snapped back to the boy when she heard his cool tone. Her lovely face grew hard, for the woman took tones almost as peronsonally as words, for they meant just as much, if not more.
"Understood. So when WILL we be able to play impromptu music? Or when will you test our overall skill in playing music?"
Luyu set down her pencil. "Class is over, you may play impromptu music as much as your heart desires, and I do not mind it one bit in the classroom before class has started. I may even join in on occasion. I will be testing your overall skill towards the end of the week, Joar. Remember that you are in an intro class, and that you will not have too much of a musical challenge until you reach one of my higher level classes."
Luyu picked her pencil back up, having neither unlocked her large eyes from Joar's nor blinked. "Have a pleasant afternoon." She dismissed him.
