The school grounds consist of 1.5 sq mi of open terrain. The area is sparsely wooded and has seven buildings circling a forty story tower in the center. The roofs are flat and easily accessible. The woods chop off into clear cut, wasteland 100 yards away from the fence to prevent any real escape. Along with the first defense though is a 20 foot tall chain link fence, only 1 gate, barbed wire on top of the fence, and an electrified netting on the opposite side to catch people. If one were to try to dig underneath they would find limestone, making it completely impossible to continue without a jack hammer which is nearly impossible to find on the grounds.
We are in Japan, the Chugoku region to be precise. It is very mountainous. However, the school itself houses criminals from any country, so don't feel obligated to have your character from Japan if you wish to be from somewhere else.
