At his words, Luyu ran for the TARDIS. Her mouth remained open, so the waves continued on the mighty machine. She reached it and the Doctor suddenly seemed panicked. Kane reached them and they were instructed to close their eyes. Doing so, the woman reached for the hand of her lover.
Her hand brushed his and suddenly she was gone. Opening her eyes in panic, Luyu clamped her mouth shut. She was the only one in the room, there was no Kane, no Doctor. Slowly, other people began to arrive. Everyone but Kane, that was. "EVERYBODY STAY IN THE CLASSROOM FOR HALF AN HOUR TO BE SAFE OK?!?"
That meant. . . Kane wasn't coming. Luyu's heart stopped beating. Running for the door, two people grabbed her and held her, "We aren't to leave the room!" Tears streamed down her face as she struggled silently, unable to make a sound. He could be hurt or worse, and she wasn't there to do anything about it.
"Everyone is here, woman! At this point, anyone left there will be dead!"
Luyu stopped struggling. The floor was rumbling, glass was shattering. The people had dropped to the ground, covering their ears. Someone was screaming, and it took the woman a moment to realize that it was her. The engagement ring on her left ring finger suddenly felt extremely heavy.
