Fighting Information
Fighting Style: Strategic Portal Fighting/Eight Trigram Defense
Years Practiced: 8
The goal of Mei Hua Quan (Eight, Sixteen, Thirty-Two Trigrams) is not necessarily to destroy your opponent, but instead to cripple and disable him or her. This is accomplished by balance, agility, tactical training, as well as a clear mind and pure soul. The combination of these factors allows the user of the style to maximize their agility and precision, allowing strikes against critical nerve points and/or organs, allowing for effective disablement using technique alone, instead of pure, blunt force.
Strategic Portal Fighting is a self-taught defensive style that uses the standard Awrenian Eight Trigrams fighting style, but by combining it together with his Qi, this allows him to strike from places he might not be able to normally.
History Information
History: Normally, all it took was a little ingenuity, and some innovative use of time & space to get what I wanted, but usually, I just left it all alone, I had what I wanted, and there was nothing I needed. How I ended up in this god forsaken place was nothing short of either fate or destiny. This is my story, or at least the parts I remember.
I was born in the Riau Providence to a military parentage, who were rather prominent in the military. At least my father was. My father was serving in Iraq for my very early years, and over the course of three deployments, received critical injuries, shattering his leg. He is however alive today, now back together with my mother in the United States, in Washington on some military base. Contrary to my older sister, Lunari, I didn't grow up on a Shoshoni tribe, but instead lived with my parents in a military setting. While military, I discovered I was being treated rather well compared to my friends. I tried to make them feel better...but often failed. They said I was different somehow, and each time I tried to cheer them up, was shunned and left.
I didn't know what was wrong with me.
Nor did my sister. It was all very strange.
It was at age seven that I started to truly become aware of myself. It happened when one of the older kids at school tried to bully me. Like before, I found my comparatively frail body unable to match that of my aggressor. But something was different. As I cringed in fear, I found my agressor suddenly gone, a burst of noise, a small bang...he was gone. But how? I ran home in tears and found only my older sister. I nearly dove on her as she was practicing her singing...I asked what had happened, what I was, and what I had done to that kid, but she too had no idea. I must of spent the next hour crying there in her arms.
Later that night, in a fit of rage, I practically demanded to know what had happened. All I knew was that something happened, and that I did it. My parents took one look at each other, and Miku, then me in progression, then proceeded to sit me down and explain the whole situation. They started off with a simple, but confusing statement. "Aternity, Miku, you are both Awrens." Well, of course we were, that was our last name! I was about to protest, then decided against it as my parents kept talking. They said that our family was special somehow, that each one of us had special powers, and that those powers came at a price of a possible genetic defection that afflicted every other Awren born. I wouldn't learn about the defect until later in my life.
However, the other things they talked about instantly became clear as my father took his contacts from his eyes. I knew he'd always worn these contacts, but I didn't realize they had been colored...under a colored green mask, lay the glowing, smoky orange eyes that I would recieve three years later.
Most of my life after that was spent by my parents, along with Miku's later discovered gravity Qi, developing my powers along side hers, teaching us how to use and manipulate our Qi for the good of the world. Along with this, my parents taught us the family martial arts style, the Eight Trigrams. Mine in particular was unique...I learned to phase step, and "jump" to places in an instant; at a speed even olympic sprinters would be jealous of.
Five years later, while still in school, Miku was hauled out of school for some big recording contract in Japan. I heavily protested, she'd been my best friend for all of these years, and now she was leaving. Of course, she promised to write every day as I grew up at the base, and likewise, she carried on her promise, for but a year...until one day, the letters stopped coming. I figured she'd just forgotten, but I was naive, and I kept waiting, for days, for weeks. And still nothing came. The story of my life became increasingly saddened...even my parents hadn't heard from her...
It seemed like my big sister had been lost forever.
At about this time, my mental state deteriorated, having been with her so long, and with no one else to understand me, I practically did anything to get money for a plane to Japan. I used my powers to steal people of their belongings, among other things. I did pretty well for a couple years...making enough on my own to support myself and my training away from my parents...but I would have to do something more to get enough for a prolonged stay in Japan. A bank heist. Yes, that was the ticket.
It started like any other plan, and it should have been easy, I had looked inside the local bank vault before, and I was able to easily breach the security. However, packing up the money, my memory lapsed...something was wrong with this vault. I tried to jump out, but my face slammed into the wall time and time again. There was no way out. I could try jumping back to the house, but I might of come out truly INSIDE the house. No...I wasn't going to die. The next thing I knew was a burning pain, my body going numb, and falling to the ground. Next thing I knew, I was in a cell, a special one...so I couldn't see anywhere to jump. They'd done their job catching me, and I deserved it. Not only did I ruin my chance to find my sister, I'd disgraced my entire family. For all I cared, death didn't seem to be too bad an option.
But...something else was different too. The judge that came personally into my cell offered me a choice, a prison school for learning my Qi, and for expanding my knowledge, or staying here for the rest of my life. It was a terribly hard choice I know.
Now for the first day of my new life, something good may yet come of this. Miku may be dead, but at least I made it to Japan in...sort of one piece, right?

Qi Power
Name: Phase Jumping (Portals)
Description: Portal Phase Jumping is a Qi power that is rather interesting in its use. It's not like normal teleporting; where instead, phasing is much more flexible in its use. Not only can Aternity 'phase,' or teleport, he can also create portals or wormholes in which other objects or people can be transported.
The Qi levels are limited by physical dimensions and distance to travel.
Beginner: Phase Step
This beginner Qi allows Aternity his inate ability to 'step' through wormholes. At this level, he can phase himself only to anywhere in his sight range at instantaneous speeds, as well as create small portals on walls in his sight range as well. What goes in, will come out on the through the other portal and vice versa, however, this level is limited to smaller objects. People CAN be phased stepped with Aternity when he holds onto them, but again only in his sight range, and usually only once or twice, as multiple jumps by untrained users can cause disorientation and other psychological effects.
