Matt took it in. All at one moment. It was too much. It was too much and he couldn't push it back down where it belonged. His emotions were running haywire, his Qi felt strange and he just couldn't seem to get a straight mind,
"It's..... It's nothing," Matrim started to say, feeling a rush of loneliness, grief, abandonment, and finally guilt. He wondered for the first time if he was doing something wrong in his life. If he somehow managed to doom himself from as early as his teenage years.
Of course, he didn't cry. Not in front of a girl. Not in front of people, not ever.
"I just.... just have a head cold is all." A lie, but if she was gonna call him on it he'd return the favor about the 'phone call' earlier.
"And trust me when I say I'm not offended." Matrim said.
Far from it. I really just don't know how I should feel about you. How I should talk to you. If I should hate you, or if I should love you. If I should be in love with you, or if I should be sickened by the very thought of you. I just.....
"I'm just not sure what I should do." Matrim said finally breaking from the spell, "I mean there isn't much else to show. If your tired we can take a break over by that fountain."

"A head cold...thats no good," Reira said, walking slowly beside him. She knew it couldn't be a held cold. The emotion from his face told her that it was much deeper than a head cold, but she knew she shouldn't prod, so she just patted his shoulder and told him take something for it.
"I'm glad your not offended....I'm not sure what to do either. It seems like thats the only question I ask myself when I'm unsure of something. What should I do? But what can you do? Sometimes there's nothing..other then that, you can only do what you are capable of."
Reira sat down on the edge of the fountain, taking up Matt's offer to rest. She began to absent mindedly throw small pebbles into it.
Maybe I should listen more to my own advice..try to be honest with myself.
"Hey, do you know back there," she said, making a hand gesture to the area of the tree she was drawing under. "Well, I wasn't really on the phone with my friend. I was talking to a spirit. It was a tormented one. It looked like it was in a lot of pain, that's why I yelled and ran. It freaked me out."
I wonder if I should've talked to the spirit more. It was practically ripping it's chest in agony....yeah no, running was definately the better option.
Picking up another stone, she threw it into the blue water and watched the ripples spew away from the center. She didn't really know why she was telling him about her little talent, but it felt nice to finally share it with someone. She had kept it secret for so long, but here, there was no reason to hide it. If Matt could block bullets with his skin, talking to spirits can't be that weird.
"It's been like that my whole life. Aren't you the special one, your the first person to know that. Congrats," she said with a grin.

"Heh," Matt began finding her honesty refreshing, "That's pretty nifty. There... might be a spirit around here... one that was murdered... that you may want to avoid. I'm not sure if she became one or not.... but if she did... she might, I dont know... convince you to try to hurt me."
Michaella Kassune. Deceased, without a trace and most of the student's just forgot she ever existed. It was weird, as if there were rumors Matt killed someone, but nobody could remember who. He wondered if it was the same for teachers.
"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to listen to those spirits. Maybe they'd be in peace if they had a little help... ya know. At the same time, some of them might just be wanting to hurt someone, so I'd be careful." Matrim said, and then added, "If you do ever decide to help any of those spirits, let me know and I'll help you out and protect you. Ghosts don't scare me too much."
Matt sat up on the edge of the fountain pulling up his pant legs and putting his barefeet in the fountain. The water was clean and he liked the feeling of the water. He thought about ghosts, Micha's ghost. What it might try to do to him since he was the one to kill her in cold blood.
Of course Micha's would creep me right the F--- out....

"Oooh! Interesting. Why would she want to hurt you? Were you her ex boyfriend and she was a woman scorned and now wants her revenge?" Reira said with a slight laugh. She new that couldn't be the truth, but it was just one of her many bad habbits to make a joke of everything, something that Simon got her into.
With no more pebbles at hand, she began to twiddle with the Venetian ring.
"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to listen to those spirits. Maybe they'd be in peace if they had a little help... ya know. At the same time, some of them might just be wanting to hurt someone, so I'd be careful. If you do ever decide to help any of those spirits, let me know and I'll help you out and protect you. Ghosts don't scare me too much."
Reira contemplated his words.
"I listen to them sometimes, even helped a few every now and then. I just avoid the ones that reak of negative energy, like the one I met back there. " She watched him put his feet in the water and decided she was too lazy to untie her converse to do the same.
"And I guess you can protect me," she added. "But only just a little."
If I broke out into a big smile now, I would look like an idiot. Must not smile like big idiot...
"Can you tell me the story of Micha? Just so I have the heads up. If you don't mind that is."

Matt was contemplating lying. He thought her version of the story was a much better one. He would have went with that too, but he had never had a girlfriend, and didn't know what type of stuff boyfriends and girlfriends did too each other that would make them hate each other. Relationships in general were confusing to him. He was much better at alliances. Business friends, or even a military ranking system. But to get to the point, he decided to tell the truth.
"It's strange... I was fighting this guy who can create and control fire. I was winning the fight since the fire didn't burn me until he used the fire to engulf me, cutting off my oxygen supply. I ended up needing to go to the infirmary. The nurse must have been out cus this woman named Michaella Kassune, who knew your mother and my father and betrayed them was the one helping me out."
Matrim took his feet out and placed them on the outer part of the fountain he was sitting on, knees bent with his hands behind him flat on the fountain side, "Well, this person came in while I was leaving, I hate hospitals. Well, this person put a sword in my hand, and before I knew it I felt so much hate for Micha, she had done something horrible to my father. She betrayed him, your mother, and Matrim Aldon, and I just..... I was drunk off of power..... I was out of my head at the moment.... but I just felt all that hate......"
Matrim began arguiging with himself, as to whether he wanted to murder her, or if he was influenced too. In the end it was both, "I killed her. I killed her in cold blood, and before I knew it I was out of that building, and it felt like my dad was there for a second. Only he wasn't angry with me.... well, everybody forgot about Micha. There are rumors that I killed a teacher... but for some reason nobody remembers her... it's the strangest thing..."
He turned back towards her face, wondering if she thought he was a psychopath or if she was scared of him. She may have met ghosts, but he didn't know if she had ever met a murderer.
The worst part is, she seems like the one person I would want to trust me and from all she's heard just there, she probably doesn't think to highly of me.
He feared what she thought of him, but he also felt glad to get it off his chest.

Reira remained silent as Matt told her how Micha's life came to an end. Micha died by his very own hands. She was shocked of course, to know that he had killed someone and she was talking to a murderer! So shocked infact that she turned her head to avoid his eyes.
"I knew that I felt so much hate for Micha, she had done something horrible to my father. She betrayed him, your mother, and Matrim Aldon"
This phrase seemed to repeat over and over in her mind. So Micha new my mother aswell.... Wait a minute! She is the Stupid Red-Headed Bitch! So thats who my mother meant! She never did tell me that she was referring to Micha when she talked about the SR-HB. It all makes sense now...it all fits!
Her gaze shifted back to him.
"Good she derserved to die. My mother told me about her, I just never knew it was Micha she was referring to. I remember my mom talking about her with fury in her voice."
Bored is sitting, Reira got up and stretched slightly.
"I don't approve of murder without reason....but it happens sometimes," she said in a monotone voice. "My Uncle Demitri killed alot of people. Sometimes he would hide out at my house after ...but even knowing what he did, I still loved him, because I knew he was a good person at heart. He only killed to protect us...so I couldn't judge him because he murdered people, I looked beyond that." She smiled as she thought of Demitri.
This conversation has turned intense, I feel bad for asking him about it. How can I turn this into a happier mood?
"I'll do the same for you Matt, I won't judge you for a single wrong deed. It wouldn't be fair, cause I betcha do more good then bad, right?" She said with a nod, confirming it to herself.
Matrim Aldon...that wouldn't be Mr. A, would it?

Matrim thought about it.
"It wouldn't be fair, cause I betcha do more good then bad, right?"
He thought about it in his head. More good then bad? My childhood was spent at home, home schooled and waited on by plenty of maids and butlers. His father taught him to fight. He didn't tell him much on why he should fight, he just taught him to be the best. He spent all his inheritence becoming the best and he didn't think to ask why.
"Yeah." It was a lie, one he told well. For one reason and one reason alone.
I can change.... I won't be able to stop fighting all the time, and I won't stop trying to organize a rebellion. But those are for good reasons. I see kids like Austin and I know they aren't here for a good reason. Reira doesn't seem like she should be here either. I'll find a way to get them out. Even if I have to fight the faculty all by myself.
"Your uncle sounds like someone I would have gotten along with..." Matrim said, hoping he didn't bring up too much of her past, "So what does your boyfriend think about you gettin landed here?"
Definitely not a sly way of asking if she's taken. But sometimes that kind of information is good to know.

"Yeah..hehe..he..Demitri sure is a character. Wish I could see him again, wherever he is," she said this in a casual tone.
Demitri is probably with my mother.
She was glad the whole serious conversation had ended. As much as she wanted to know more about him, she'd prefer the mood to be a little more energetic and not so melancholy.
"So what does your boyfriend think about you gettin landed here?"
She thought about this for a split second and then answered.
"Oh Simon, he sulked like a baby for days on end ...oh wait... you mean boyfriend..as in boyfriend boyfriend!" Reira laughed. "I don't have one."
Glancing down at her wristwatch, she figured it was about time to head back to her dorm.
"I'm sure your girlfriend must be furious your here, by the way, the dorms are this way right?" She said gesturing in a certain direction. "It's getting late and I'm sure you have better things to do then spend your time talking to me."

(ooc: 'tis okay!)
"Heh, yeah.... I've never even been friends with a girl much less had a girlfriend.... I've led a strange life apparently. Well, Yeah I suppose so." Matrim said. His feet were rather cold and he could use some warm air, "Yeah, girls dorms are that way. Well, it was nice meeting you Reira, hope to see you around sometime."
Maybe you'll see me for who I want to be. Until then, maybe you can just pretend I'm the kind of person you want me to be. Maybe, maybe I can be that person someday....
Matrim headed back to his dorms, hands in pocket. He got maybe ten feet away when he pulled his right hand out of his pocket and raised it in the air to say 'goodbye'.
"Huh..." He reached the boys dorm entrance and turned around, "So that's the daughter of the woman who broke my dads heart..... fate is funny."
Matrim returned to his dorm to take a nap and reflect.

"Don't we all! Thanks for showing me the around, and it was nice meeting you to," she said picking up her book bag and placing it on her shoulder. "See you, have a good night."
With her goodbye being said, she turned her back on him and walked the opposite direction. She was glad she met him...finally someone to talk to that was half decent, not to mention their parents new eachother, more serious then that, dated eachother!
Fate truly does have it's way with things. Not one word about my mother in five years, then I wind up here, and find out about alot of people who knew her! There is Matt, Matrim, and Micha was here to. I wonder if there'll be anymore people who knew my mom. I wouldn't doubt it..
Reira found herself glancing over her should, at the departing Matt. To her surprise, he lifted his hand out of his pocket to wave goodbye, as if he knew she'd be looking. Finding this rather amusing, she laughed slightly and ran the rest of the way to her dorm.
Once there, she piled her stuff on her bed and fished out her MAC. Dialing the familiar number, Simon picked up on the third ring.
"Hello," Simon said, "SIMON! GUESS WHAT!" "Oww...lay off on the noise will ya, I've got delicate ears." "There's people here who now my mom! It's crazy..."
(Thread Closed, I think hehe ^^)
