The teacher looked around as he ascended the stairs. His crimson colored hair flew behind him along with the long sideburns that were almost as long. The sun tails glinted off the sun that came through the windows. He wore tan cargo shorts and a sleeveless blank t-shirt. His black tennis shoes made soft sounds on the stone tower as he walked to the infirmary.
He was looking for the nurse, his wife. He had had an interesting morning in his Anatomy class and found someone who was the son of Mat's best friend at the highschool he went to, PHS 253. The boy had no family now since his father had died and his mother he didn't even know who that was.
He felt sorry for the boy and wanted to help him out when he was all alone. Hell, the boy was basically family if he was related to Luke in any way. Its just he now needed to run it through his wife Emma to make sure it was alright that they adopt him.
He hoped she would be alright with it but then again the science teacher had only JUST returned to his family the day before and was asking his wife to bring another child in. But, Emma did want to have another child and with her pregnant sometime soon and Elayne going to school and Mat teaching and her nursing it might be good to have an extra set of hand around the house to help out.
He kept walking and soon reached the door and opened it. His clover green eyes looked around the office/resting area and said, "Emma, you here?" in a soft voice so if anyone was in here sleeping he wouldn't wake them. No answer, so he started looking around the room and saw her in her office staring at something with her back to him. He gave a grin. Well Elayne wasn't here so the games could be played.
He walked up behind her silently and enveloped her in a hug and kissed her neck. "Well hello there nurse, how are you today?" he said with a charming grin on his face.

The day had been tiring. Micha had treated students and not done ANY paper work so I had to do all of it, calling the students in one at a time. I was on my last bit, almost done too. I smiled lightly as I heard a small voice call into the room. Now who would that be?
My question was soon answered with a hug and kiss on the neck. Ah, so my husband had come to see me. Most excellent. I had a bit of...stress that needed relieved.
"Ah, hello, my sweet." I swiveled around, giving him a kiss and returning the hug. "I'm very frustrated. You might know how to help me. But, all otherwise, I'm doing just fine. I was just about to break for lunch, if that's what you're here for."
I grinned. Maybe he knew what I was talking about, maybe not. Either way, I was getting hungry and lunch was just a few steps away, in my refrigerator. Then again, maybe a bit of a game was in order. I was quite a bit rusty and Elayne wasn't around. But, all well. I turned to give my signature and then looked back to Mat.
I got up, giving him a more passionate kiss and then left him, walking over to the fridge. I opened the door, taking out a soda and then popping it open to sip on it as I waited for his reaction. Just what was he thinking I was thinking?

He looked at her and touched her back as she kissed him back. She said she was frustrated, and he could tell why from the stack of papers on her table. Had to be a good deal of medical records to go through for all that.
She then had moved out of his arms and to the fridge to open a soda and drink it. He looked at his MAC, yeah it was about time for lunch but from what she sounded like and since it was his wife he tried thinking out of the conventional senses of the sentence.
He then walked over to her and brush a strand of hair from her face. She always seemed to have one waiting for him to move when he was about to kiss her. "Well, that depends my love, how long is your lunch?" he asked her with a smile and kissed her softly. Letting his lips linger on hers and put both hands on her hips.
He then pulled away slowly and looked into her royal blue eyes with his clover ones and smiled lightly. "I have missed you so much Emma...and I love you.." he said even softer holding her close.

A soft smile as he walked to me, brushing the loose hair out of my eyes. He asked me a question that only made me happier still. My lunch wasn't regulated. I could take however long I wanted since I didn't have a steady flow of students and I didn't anticipate any students for the rest of the day.
I moved closer to him, one hand playing with his hair and the other tracing along his jaw line. So he missed me. Nothing new there. And the loving was expected. But, still it was appreciated.
"I love you so much Mat." I whispered, kissing him again. "But, we can't do this here." I gave him a little kiss. "I have the students and we never know when one'll," another, "get hurt," and another, "Or sick."
I pulled away suddenly, getting in the fridge again. I pulled out lunch, sandwiches, fruit, and some crisps from a cabinet. I hated that I had to get out lunch, but you never knew. Worst part about the job.

He smiled and kissed her when she kissed him. He let her play with his hair. He didn't know if she liked it this long, when she had last seen him 5 years ago it was about jaw length. She had readily refused facial hair on every aspect since it made kissing him feel funny. He never did mind that.
He held her closer and kissed her softly and then kissed her nose. "Alright Emma, whatever you say." he said with a soft smile as she escaped his arms and went back to the fridge. He wondered if now would be a good time to ask or not. It seemed odd to ask his wife something like this but the boy had no one else to turn to.
He walked over to her side and placed his hand on her opposite hip. He gave a smile and kissed her cheek. He might as well live up to his personal belief. 'Go for Broke EVERY time.' He then looked at her with innocent eyes and opened his mouth to speak.
"Emma...mind if I ask you a small favor? Just something your love wants to do but needs his wife to okay it too." He said sweetly trying to make it sound as innocent as possible. That was the hardest part of him. He wasn't really innocent, well not innocent after being with Emma for all these years. He loved her and couldn't be without her but innocence...with a plotter never lasted long.

"Stop. Innocence no longer suits you." I said as soon as he finished.
I spun out of his grip, sitting at the table and grabbing one of the sandwiches to nibble on while I pondered precisely what to answer. It could be a trick, some way to get me to do something I really didn't want to. Then again, he wouldn't dare try tricking me as I was the master at seeing through them.
So, precisely what to answer him with? I took a bite of one of the crisps and swallowed before answering him. I wouldn't turn to look, merely let my facial expression remain a mystery to him. More fun that way.
"It depends." I said, a small smirk flickering across my features. "If it includes anything even remotely related to my powers in the English government, you know full well that I won't waste them on anything stupid. And if includes moving Elayne and myself out of the school dormitories, I may have to take a few days to think on it. So, the small favor I need to okay can and will have many answers."
I smiled again, taking a sip of m drink.
"But, as I cannot give you an answer without knowing the small favor, ask away."
Always had to drag it out. Always.

He smiled and looked at her. She was right, innocence never suited him. She then moved out of his arms and to a table as she ate her lunch and spoke of things she would do if that had been the favor, none were, he didn't even think she would ever guess what it really was.
He walked over and kissed her nose. "You remember Luke right? The boy who questioned Micha right before I beat the living hell out of her. Well, he died about five years back but he has a son that is now an orphan and I was just wondering if we could well...Adopt him. If its alright with you that is." he said as he looked at her.
He didn't think she would go for it. Light, he was actually half believing he had even said it but only time would tell on what her answer would be.

He smiled and walked over, kissing my nose before hitting me with something completely unexpected. I tried my best not to appear shaken as he explained that Luke had died and had left a son as an orphan. Adopt a son? Adopt Luke's son?
"Well, Mat," I started, taking a bite of sandwich. I swallowed and looked at him, smiling. "All you had to do was ask.I would gladly adopt him. Light, Luke's son, and someone to help this family grow, what a perfect fit."
I gave my husband a hug before going back to my lunch. "So, when am I going to meet said new family member? And Elayne, too. Yes, it'd be important for her to meet him before we tell them both. A family dinner, perhaps?"
