"Security, standby for TARDIS entry, you are to code it as friendly. Let it in." And with that, Solaris turned the cannons off that would shoot anything without proper authorization. The cannons retreated into their shells, and the room was left undefended for the moment. In a moment, Doc would arrive, and yet more discussions would be had.
Kane was dead, so where did that put Solaris? He didn't have to stay did he? But what of Chronos? What of the core? Would it put under the same limits? Who was to know. For now, Solaris rested, waiting for the Doctor, thinking about his past, and now his future as an AI.
"...Now what?" It was a question he hoped to never ask.

The Tardis came into existence near the entrance with the door facing the core. The Doctor didn't plan it this way, it was just pure luck. The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS taking a second to look at his landing, "MAN I'm good! Oh.... right."
He grabbed his Sonic Screwdriver and ran towards one of the control centers he was messing with the first time he showed up. He started going at it without talking. He took away the firewalls he had placed since GlaDOs was gone and Kane was dead, there was no more threat to Solaris' programming known to the Doc. He then remembered what it said in the will, Solaris had restraints the Doctor somehow missed, and he knew now where to find them. It might set off an alarm, and it may create a fuzzy feeling for Solaris, but it was definitely what should have happened long ago.
He had done the deed, "There we go!" The Doctor said still not confronting Solaris himself. After he put away his Sonic Screwdriver he turned around and looked up at the core, "Solaris Awren, you are officially a free man with free will now. Turns out I was right to suspect you weren't previously."
The Doctor put his hands behind his back and then said again, "We.. we killed him Solaris. Me and you.... It's neither of our faults directly, but in the end.... it was us.."
The Doctor didn't take life often, Dalek's and Cybermen sure, but a human life, while he didn't pull the trigger (technically Kane did), he was still responsible for Kane's safety, and a silly mistake caused a death.
"Anyway," The Doctor said in a lighter mood as he sat on a nearby chair, "I'll let the Hikari boy know what happened. Then I'll try to find the girl, Matrim should be talking to luyu, and there is someone else in this will I don't know about... I'm guessing it's a newer student that Kane must have known. I guess I'll get around to him eventually."
"Uhm, I'm going to start up some epirements to make Wilson a human body.... see if I can't give him a proper life, other then the soul trapped in metal that he is..." The Doctor couldn't help but think of cybermen when he first saw Wilson, "If I find a way to give him a new, human body.... well if you're ever interested... I have the technology and time. I'll be working on it... I could always do the same for you."

Solaris had known The Doctor was coming, he knew he'd come in the TARDIS, and was doing...SOMETHING with Chronos...but honestly, he didn't know, and didn't really care what was going on. He could hear some clicking and whirring of the Sonic Screwdriver, and his own thoughts...which was about it.
Killing people used to be his job, but he'd left that to help others, and...he'd just gone back to his roots, and broken the foundation of the school nearly single-handedly. How would you have felt? Not very good I'm sure. The clicking contined, and finally, Solaris became interested in what Doc was up to in the core.
"Solaris Awren, you are officially a free man with free will now. Turns out I was right to suspect you weren't previously." Doc was right...he did feel a little differently, and a quick scan found that he had something he'd never had totally before. The ability to think for himself...the right to his own morals. It was certainly a wonderful feeling.
Solaris finally appeared himself in the containment area to Doc sitting down. He heard about Matrim and Luyu, about Wilson and Doc...but most importantly...
"If I find a way to give him a new, human body.... well if you're ever interested... I have the technology and time. I'll be working on it... I could always do the same for you."
There were people that cared about the AIs well-being.
Solaris sat next to Doc. "I appriciate everything you've done...thank you so much."

The Doctor gathered up his stuff and left without so much as another word to Solaris. He shouldn't be being thanked right now. He had work to do anyway, and had best be off soon as possible. He still had to tell Alex Hikari and Kyoko Hikari about the fate of their father. The situation they were in now is a very strange one, the Doctor hoped they wouldn't be spoiled with the power Kane left them.
"Well then..." He said as he shut the TARDIS door behind him, "The machine that turned me human.... I wonder if it has the ability to make Wilson human.... if I made him human, what would his Qi be?"
The Doctor sat at his control panel for awhile, he didn't know what to do. He knew he had to find Alex or Kyoko next, but he didn't know what to do with his life. He had stayed in order to help Kane because his TARDIS still needed repair, he stayed because he thought Kane had ill intent towards Solaris and the Doctor wanted to make sure Solaris didn't get into the wrong hands. If he left now, he knew Solaris could hold his own without destroying any more of this planet, but he still felt an odd impulse to stay here for awhile longer. This was by far the longest time he had spent in one place and one time.
He definitely needed a "TA" soon. That way he could get out a bit more, fix the timeline in his spare time and have someone with him. Thats all that he really wanted. A companion to go on his journey with.
"Off we go..." The Doctor said finally pulling the switch on the TARDIS. As he roared out of existence he reemerged on the school grounds about 2 minutes walking distance away from the Pool where he saw the Hikari boy jumping in by himself.
ooc: end of my part in this thread. dont forget to tip your waitress.
