Marquise waited until 11:30, that is what he set his alarm clock for. He woke up and decided to go incognito. He transformed into Lunari Awren and made his way to the school grounds, the very same spot that the demon was being hunted down and eventually killed by the human kid.
I have her voice down.... most of her mannerisms, and I have her look done.... it's a flawless disguise, so hopefully nobody follows me. Of course... if she saw me on the way out I suppose it'd be strange to see yourself walking into the woods. Oh well.....
Marquise was a little hungry and Dani wasn't around, there were a few students but they were mostly couples sneaking out, Marquise knew better then to take on two people at once.
Damn...... Here I am starving, and for what? A foreign language and to scout out someone I could possibly turn. What's worse is I remember her taste... she was sweet... and definitely filling... she was like a water fountain that night, bleeding every which way for me to drink..... the only thing better then that I suppose is Dani.....
Matrim got to the spot and changed back into the form he had earlier today. He kept his eyes red, hid his fangs, kept his mohawk and ponytail, and even kept his voice the same harsh thing that it was. After all, he was going to show her a lot of screwed up stuff during their training, but first he was going to teach her what she really wanted to learn.

Sephora stared at the trees. She had been out here for a little while now, it was 11:45 and she was to meet John in 15 minutes. The night was dark and her gray yoga pants allowed her to blend in the with the foliage, her tight black t-shirt helping. After having left the gym, the girl had been careful to relax, saving her energy for tonight.
She was 15 feet away from the clearing, not keen on being walked up on, even if she knew who was coming. The attack had made Sephora paranoid. Lifting her slender hand, the girl placed it on the bark of the tree. It felt so good, to be once more with her family.
[glow=green,2,300]Litte human...[/glow]
The tree sighed at her and she smiled, resting her bruised cheek against the cool bark. She could feel the tree reciprocating her affection. It was like being taken into a mother's warm embrace, the girl smiled. She loved the forest. Opening her senses, she found many animals in the immediate area, a bobcat, a coyote of some sort, and many birds. They would prove useful if anything went amuck.
[glow=green,2,300]Little human, you always play with fire[/glow]
Not knowing what this meant, Sephora made a mental note to be cautious. Was this perhaps a warning for her upcoming training? Was there perhaps something in the forest that had come to harm her?
[glow=green,2,300]Be wary of the female who is not, Little Human[/glow]
Of what? Sephora didn't undersand, but once more made a note. Last time she had ignored the trees, a demon-possessed Joar had nearly killed her.
Looking up at the moon, she figured it was time to head to the clearing. Her bare feet padded silently on the grass, missing anything that would make a sound. Reaching the clearning, Sephora leaned against a birch, searching the clearing with her blue eyes.
There. She saw him. Opening her mouth to call for John's attention, she saw his eyes flash red and stopped. She had thought that his Qi was shapeshifting of some sort and it seemed she was right. Her blood ran cold for a moment, had he come here in the shape of a woman? She didn't know.
Protect me if I cry out Sephora said to the trees, who she knew would relay the message to the animals in the area. She was their Little Human and the girl knew that they loved and would protect her.
"John," She called, stepping into the moonlight from the shadow of the birch, "I'm here."

"Thirty years....... time just flies...... It's good to see that you are brave enough to meet a stranger alone in the woods at night. That shows that you aren't without hope." His voice was colder and shriller, and definitely without a single care for her well being. "Now then, shall we begin? I believe you are ready for this information, just... make sure to keep it to yourself, and I will do the same with anything I learn about you."
Marquise faced the girl, and then he examined her. She didn't seem to frightened at all, either she was too trusting, or she had someone here to protect her. Or perhaps maybe something.
Silly girl, at least she passed the test. As simple as it was, the test will continue to grow harder and harder...... if she can stay here the entire night without being scared off then she should be fine.
"Now girl, you wish to learn to fight for yourself? The first thing you must learn is not fighting styles. You must not show fear, you must not show mercy, that is your first lesson. Because I guarantee that your opponent will not show you these things. If they do, they could know the most complex fighting styles in the world, but they will lose." Marquise fangs started to show, his nails became sharper, not that she would notice, "Tell me your Qi girl, then I will tell you how to use it in combat. That will decide what fighting style if any, you should use. Of course, I am not without manners. I would never ask you to do something that I have not done myself."
Marquise changed his body completely, his voice, and turned into something he knew for a fact she feared. He appeared as the possessed boy, the fire in the eyes and the voice of the demon who was calling out, "I can change change my body and voice at will, even more so during the night."
He changed into Sephora as she appeared that night, bleeding and broken, Marquise walked towards Sephora and then changed into Lunari Awren and then back to his original form, fangs out, eyes red, nails longer, and his clothes were now old fashioned, clothes that belonged in the 19th century, not the 21st. "So then, what can you do, Sephora?

"Thirty years....... time just flies...... It's good to see that you are brave enough to meet a stranger alone in the woods at night. That shows that you aren't without hope. Now then, shall we begin? I believe you are ready for this information, just... make sure to keep it to yourself, and I will do the same with anything I learn about you." His voice was harsher than it had been earlier, if that had been possible. Sephora suddenly wondered at the wisdom of her being here, but was comforted that Riley had said he would come. He would be there, somewhere, though she couldn't see his shadow in the night.
"Now girl, you wish to learn to fight for yourself? The first thing you must learn is not fighting styles. You must not show fear, you must not show mercy, that is your first lesson. Because I guarantee that your opponent will not show you these things. If they do, they could know the most complex fighting styles in the world, but they will lose. I would never ask you to do something that I have not done myself." As he spoke, the moonlight seemed to play tricks with him. She couldn't tell what was different, just that something was. Perhaps he was shapeshifting, as she suspected he could. The words of the tree echoed through her mind, the woman who was not.
"I can change change my body and voice at will, even more so during the night." Sephora's suspicions were confirmed as he began to change. In that moment, her heart stopped and her throat clenched. Standing in front of her was Joar in the moment that he had tried to kill her. Standing as she had been, the girl didn't show a lick of emotion. Her father hadn't taught her how to fight, but he had taught her the art of manipulation and deceit. Sephora was an excellent lier.
As he spoke, he walked towards her, and she stared hard into those depthless fiery eyes. He changed once more, this time into the girl herself, though how she must have looked that night. These two changes confirmed her suspicion that this boy had been Christopher, the ever-changing boy who had helped to save her. The boy who had covered her eyes when there had been no danger and spoken of some sort of healing that she must consent to. The girl's blue eyes stared forward at herself blankly, though she wanted to scream and run from him.
As he got closer, John changed into Miss Lunari, and Sephora knew it was he she should be wary of. He changed once more, this time, though, he wore outdated clothes and bore fangs, with long sharp nails.
"So then, what can you do, Sephora? Swallowing, the girl wondered how this terrifying boy could show her how to use her Qi in defense, as he had said he could. Perhaps, he meant to learn it then kill her, but the girl was not afraid. She had ways of protecting herself in the forest.
"My Qi," she said, her voice strong and unshaking, "is life," With these words, Sephora dug her toes into the dirt and 14 moonflowers grew out of nothing in the area between them. "and," Sephora continued, "its manipulation." Half of the flowers died, the other half growing taller than was possible in their own for such a flower. Sephora didn't say that she could speak to the animals and trees, for she felt it went unsaid. If he did not assume it, then so be it. She was sure he had left a few things of himself out.
Calling to one of the animals, the lynx crept out of the darkness. It was an old one, its face tattered. The creature had obviously just eaten, for its maw was covered in wet blood that it was still licking off. The normally fierce creature purred loudly and rubbed itself against Sephora's legs, staring with large eyes at John.

"Good," He said changing his voice to the one he had as a mortal, "Now I'm going to finish my story, and I will tell you everything about me. There were a few reasons I wanted privacy. First of all, I don't give free lessons to anyone, your teaching me, so that's something. Two, I don't want everybody knowing my abilities and what I am. Three, because if you didn't come here alone, even if you asked someone to come with, you already failed the first test."
Marquise then stepped into an open patch of moonlight and sat, crossing his legs, he gestured for her to sit down in front of him, "This won't be our only lesson. Just the first one."
Vines, rose thorns, toxins, allergens......
"The name I told you earlier was John, correct? That wasn't a lie. My name is John-Baptiste Kamp, or at least, it was," Marquise spoke as though he had been asked, as if she was a newspaper reporter and he was being interviewed. "I'm forty seven years old. As a human something happened to me, I was possessed by a demon, of my own will, in order to kill another demon. A lot's happened since then, and now I'm a creature of the night, a vampire."
Marquise stared into the girls eyes, "The night you were hurt, I wasn't there to save you at first. I saw someone bleeding who was potentially going to be left alone, and I decided to feast off of the blood that had already left your body. The promises I was making were true, if you were going to die that night, I would have turned you, made you what I am, in order to save your life."
Marquise was telling her the truth, "So then girl, do I frighten you? Do you feel unsafe around me? Did you invite the little ghosty or perhaps the teacher in that room, or even another boy to come to your rescue? Would you run from me? Would you RUN AND HIDE?"
His fangs bared, his eyes red, his ears sharpened in feature, his hair red, his voice was harsh and cruel. He wanted to see what she would do.
Fight or flight little girl.... Fight or flight.... which would you choose I wonder?
Marquise showed much more harm then he intended to cause, but he needed to get his point across. If she was tired of using boys as meat shields, she would stand up and confront the monster. She would face him, not turn and hide, now be afraid and cower. This was what she needed to learn. To be able to fight a monster, you had to become a monster much fiercer then the one in front of you.

"Good, now I'm going to finish my story, and I will tell you everything about me. There were a few reasons I wanted privacy. First of all, I don't give free lessons to anyone, your teaching me, so that's something. Two, I don't want everybody knowing my abilities and what I am. Three, because if you didn't come here alone, even if you asked someone to come with, you already failed the first test." Sephora listened patiently, all the while realizing that she had failed the first test. She had asked Riley to come, though he had offered first. The girl hadn't thought much of it, as Riley was a ghost and couldn't do anything to protect her. His presence would be a comfort, though. Besides, she really had no idea if he had shown or not. She couldn't see a shadow in the night.
Sitting in front of him, the girl rested her full-arm cast on her leg. Her bruises shone in the moonlight, giving her caramel skin a bluish purple tint. She stared, unflinching, into his red eyes, careful not to stare at his fangs.
"The name I told you earlier was John, correct? That wasn't a lie. My name is John-Baptiste Kamp, or at least, it was, I'm forty seven years old. As a human something happened to me, I was possessed by a demon, of my own will, in order to kill another demon. A lot's happened since then, and now I'm a creature of the night, a vampire." Sephora's blood ran cold. The lynx seemed to sense her sudden terror, though she didn't even flinch, and rubbed against her back, purring loudly. So many demons had shown themselves in her life lately, it was no surprise that one of them was a vampire, though the idea of being so close to one was petrifying. Even if she had wanted to, the girl didn't think she could have gotten up to run. Her knees would have given out after the first step.
"The night you were hurt, I wasn't there to save you at first. I saw someone bleeding who was potentially going to be left alone, and I decided to feast off of the blood that had already left your body. The promises I was making were true, if you were going to die that night, I would have turned you, made you what I am, in order to save your life." She knew it. Sephora had not understood when he was making the promises, for she was weak with blood loss and hand't understood most of what had happened. That was why he had covered her eyes, that was why Miss. Lunari had taken so long to leave her for Nymn. John had been offering to to make her into something like himself, and in her uncertain state, Sephora had been more than ready to accept.
"So then girl, do I frighten you? Do you feel unsafe around me? Did you invite the little ghosty or perhaps the teacher in that room, or even another boy to come to your rescue? Would you run from me? Would you RUN AND HIDE?" His voice had gone back to being poisonous, his features more like the vampires of the stories she had been told as a child. The lynx began to snarl, coming around her side.
[glow=green,2,300]little human...[/glow]
She could hear the trees in the back of her mind, as well as their moaning on the wind. It was a soft moaning, as much as trees could make for normal ears to hear, but it offered her strength and comfort in the face of what she thought might be her death.
All of the training Sephora had had for deception suddenly took over. She calmed herself, not allowing her body to show any of the signs of complete terror that she felt inside. Assessing the situation, she knew that even if she had wanted to run, her jellylegs wouldn't carry her more than five feet, so staying where she was was the best option for the moment. "I did invite the ghost," Sephora said softly, "to quell his mistrust of you."
The lynx had crouched beside her, fangs bared in its bloody muzzle, stiff in appearance but ready to move as liquid. The creature was waiting for the vampire to make the first move, and Sephora followed by example. Right now John was not harming her, just terrifying her more than. . . well, Sephora suddenly realized she had been far more afraid when the demon inside of Joar had been trying to kill her. Taking some comfort, she asked him a question, "Why would you have turned me? To save my life? What about me makes me above dragging into the forest to drain? After all, I wouldn't have put up much of a fight, I was too weak."
Sephora spoke perhaps a bit louder than intended, but it was more to hear herself than for him to hear her. Everything she had been told about vampires made then ruthless killing monsters, so if he was going to kill her, why go to the trouble of leaving her alive and getting her back out here if John was just going to kill and drain her anyways? Perhaps it was really just to learn Armenian, but for now Sephora had that to her advantage, she realized. There wasn't another person in this school that could teach him her language.
Sephora forced herself to remain calm. She wanted to show that she wasn't afraid, even though she was terrified, so the girl touched the lynx, who looked at her and then stood, walking back into the forest. It wouldn't go far even if she told it to, but Sephora knew that if the vampire decided to attack, the old lynx wouldn't be much help anyway.

So she invited the ghost, a ghost didn't trust me? I guess it shouldn't. Ghosts are despicable creatures. Someone should really put that soul out of it's misery.
"Why would you have turned me? To save my life? What about me makes me above dragging into the forest to drain? After all, I wouldn't have put up much of a fight, I was too weak."
"Call it what you will," He put his voice back to calm, his fangs stayed, his eyes stayed, but he kept his voice calm, "I think I wanted someone of my own kind around. Besides, it's not exactly easy to turn someone. On principle I won't force someone to become a vampire, as a vampire they'll grow to despise you. If you save someone's life, they will naturally adore and look up to you. You aren't special to me girl, not in the slightest. If I felt like it, I'd drain you where you stand, but I don't want to draw attention to myself, there are people after me, people who could probably manage to break into this prison to kill me. I'm here for my own safety."
He stood up and turned around, taking five long steps. "Get up girl, and if you can, from where you are, try to grow a vine around my foot as fast as you can."
Fighting styles will come later. She's a mid to long range fighter, assuming she's fast enough. She should be from all the running she's probably done in her life.

Riley drifted along high above in the sky, as he looked around for the clearing Sephora had told him about. His eyes darted from side to side, finally spotting the clearing. As he descended, he could already see Sephora and John talking, crap, was he that late? He landed nearby, and saw that there was lynx there as well.
" Huh, a lynx. I don't think I need to, but if it comes to it, I might have to possess it to help out. Damn, it's times like these I wish I could do more than just possess people and objects." Moving closer, he heard some of the conversation that already started.
" ... force someone to become a vampire, as a vampire they'll grow to despise you.
Did Riley just hear right? A vampire!? Crap, no wonder the spiritual energy surrounding the guy was off the scale. Riley's eyes narrowed, since this guy was a vampire, he probably hated Riley, since Riley was a gohst, a soul with no body, a wandering spirit. Taking a quick glance at the lynx, Riley decided to possess it, just to inform Sephora he was here. He lined up with the lynx, and shot straight into it's body, taking control of its mind and body. Projecting his thoughts, he communicated with Sephora via the lynx.
Sephora, it's Riley, I'm here. I've taken temporary control of the lynx, so I could tell you. I'll be nearby, but I don't know how much help I can be if anything happens. Don't let your guard for a second okay? If I need to, I can take control of the trees surrounding us too, be careful.
Riley exited from the lynx's body, as the lynx shook its body after he had released his control on it. Hovering near Sephora's shoulder, his eyes were still narrowed, now wary of John, who spoke. "Get up girl, and if you can, from where you are, try to grow a vine around my foot as fast as you can." " Sephora...be careful..." Riley thought, as he watched to see what would happen.

The moment Sephora had heard he was a vampire the girl had made herself understand that she was just a simple way to learn a language.
Sephora heard the voice and knew immediatly where the lynx was. It was comforting to have him close, but she didn't change her facial expression.
"Get up girl, and if you can, from where you are, try to grow a vine around my foot as fast as you can." Standing, Sephora nearly told him to stop calling her girl. Her toe dug into the ground as she rose and a vine shot where his left foot landed and wrapped around his foot, not three steps away from her.

Marquise watched as the vine grew. It was strong, he tested it, if he had been running, he definitely would have fallen and tripped. Marquise didn't break the vine, instead he kept it where it was. He observed the area looking around for the ghost, perhaps it possessed the animal, could it do that? Had the ghost even come. He couldn't tell by the look on Sephora's face whether it was there or not.
It'd be interesting to see it try to possess me. A soul-less being that doesn't breath or have a heart beat being possessed by a ghost, that would be an interesting combination... not sure what would happen. As for this girl, her power is greater then she thinks. She doesn't know how to use it in combat huh? She will learn.
"Thorns, give the vine thorns, get both of the legs now, grow them up my thigh so that I am immobilized. Do so quickly as you possibly can!"
Let's see what you can do girl, let's see what you are capable of, let us tire you until you can't possibly grow another flower, only then will we see what you are really capable of.
Marquise turned into the possessed boy one more time, adding some fangs and using the same demonic voice, "Hurry girl, the big bad wolf is chasing you down, you would do best to make your move!"

"Thorns, give the vine thorns, get both of the legs now, grow them up my thigh so that I am immobilized. Do so quickly as you possibly can!" Sephora pushed at the vine with her Qi and it shot up his leg as it turned into a thorny vine. His other foot stepped forward and a new vine shot up, this one thicker than the last.
Both vines grew up his legs as he turned into the demon once more. "Hurry girl, the big bad wolf is chasing you down, you would do best to make your move!" Sephora took a step back and wondered if he would actually tear through the vines. Adding to the vines, Sephora summoned ivy.
The ivy clung to the vines then wound its way to his clothing, the tiny roots piercing his clothing and digging into his skin. Ivy sinks its little roots into whatever it clings to and tears it down.

He was in a bit of pain as the vines and even ivy sunk in, thicker and stronger, more and more painful. He felt it begin to work it's way to his skin, he began to rip the plants with his sharpened nails, digging his feet out, and turning back into himself. "Enough."
This girl is strong, why in the hell does she complain or go to learn martial arts?
"You've had this power all along and you haven't considered to use it? You could create a long vine with plenty of thorns towards the end and make a whip out of the thing, it wouldn't be very strong, but it could do some damage and keep opponents at bay. Not to mention you could do what you just did now, except grow the vines to restrict arm movement, and while they are busy with the vines, thorns, and ivy you could drop kick them." Marquise though of what martial arts would fit her. He couldn't think of much.
"Now then girl, tell me about yourself. I'm not necessarily curious, but I figure you owe me as much seeing as I told you about myself. Then I want you to think of other plants you could grow, ones with certain qualities about them, foreign plants that might cause hallucinations are allergies. Or perhaps you could trip an opponent and completely bind them with some sort of vine?" Marquise broke away and then shot a look at the small feline.
What is a beast like that doing here anyway... it seems to calm and tamed.... It's lucky I only feast on humans. I'd never degrade myself to drinking the blood of animals. No matter what situation I was in, I'd sooner decapitate myself.

Sephora stopped. She had never used her Qi like this, she really didn't think that defense like this was so easy. Why hadn't she been able to do things like this against Joar? Perhaps because of that reason. It had been Joar.
[glow=green,2,300]Defend yourself, Little Human[/glow]
Sephora swallowed. The trees were worried for her.
"You've had this power all along and you haven't considered to use it? You could create a long vine with plenty of thorns towards the end and make a whip out of the thing, it wouldn't be very strong, but it could do some damage and keep opponents at bay. Not to mention you could do what you just did now, except grow the vines to restrict arm movement, and while they are busy with the vines, thorns, and ivy you could drop kick them." He was right. Sephora rubbed her cheek thoughtfully, ignoring the pain at the touching of her bruises. Having grown up with bodyguards, the girl had never had to think tactfully before, had never had to defend herself beyond the point of pacing a bodyguard to keep away from the bullets.
"Now then girl, tell me about yourself. I'm not necessarily curious, but I figure you owe me as much seeing as I told you about myself. Then I want you to think of other plants you could grow, ones with certain qualities about them, foreign plants that might cause hallucinations are allergies. Or perhaps you could trip an opponent and completely bind them with some sort of vine?" The girl glanced at the dead vines laying around his feet.
"Well, my name is Sephora Tsorovan." Sephora paused here for emphasis, she hated being called girl, "I am from Armenia, a compound in the middle of the country. My father is self-employed, my mother died in childbirth." She paused, wondering what else he was looking for. She wasn't about to tell him her father was a drug lord and she had her own giraffe, among many other exotic pets.
"I've spent my life surrounded by bodyguards, always taught that I should be protected by others and never protect myself." Sephora placed her hand in the crook of her cast, "I am at this school not because I did something wrong, but because my father wanted to protect me. In his profession, there are many who would seek to kidnap a daughter of a rival who can grow things on a whim." The girl shrugged.
"If you were wondering, the boy that was possessed was named Joar. He was my. . . friend." Sephora hadn't meant to pause, but she had almost said her boyfriend. He hadn't been, but he had been the closest to love she had ever had.

"Joar, huh." Marquise thought about it. "Well, he's dead now. You'd do best to get over that fact as quickly as possible."
Marquise wasn't one to worry about death, dying, the dead, or even killing. "If I were your opponent I would turn into him, as he was, and even pretend to be him. If you were over him, I wouldn't be able to use that against you, so you would defeat the purpose of my vampyric shapeshifting. Other opponents may use his name and words to weaken you."
The human soul is a weakness. Each heart beat more wretched then the last. This girl would do best to think of herself and her future.
"So then girl, learn to use your legs, learn to use your speed. Kickboxing is what you should learn. Luckily it is a style I learned while I was still mortal. Although, if I were you, I wouldn't go toe to toe with an opponent, I'd keep my distance and wait for them to stop moving. If you can slow them down, you can use your vines more efficiently. If an opponent charges you from a distance, make a vine halfway between you and your opponent, make sure it hides it's length by laying flat until your opponent gets to it, then trip him. Surround him with vines and thorns and ivy, and move in to kick him in the head."
Marquise was telling her these things so she would remember soon. He was going to have them spar in a second to see what she could do in a fight. Marquise wasn't much of a fighter, so he should be an easy enough opponent, but the important part was that she learned something. Of course, if he got too tired he'd need nourishment of some sort.

Lunari had long been kneeling in a nearby tree, spying on the partnership below. She'd obscured her view in the tree, wearing her tribal clothing, and camouflaging herself to the point where even she couldn't see out normally. Instead, her Qi did the seeing for her, mapping out the networks of Qi in other peoples bodies. It was rather difficult to keep still, watching and waiting, but it had to happen. No interference, at all.
On listening, the boy made himself out to be a vampire. A rather shocking revelation that quickly subsided. Solaris' creator was a vampire, and technically, he was a vampire as well, having her soul and all, but that was another story. Riley had showed as well, his Qi now clearly visible since Lunari had time to tune it. A small skirmish ensued as well, and it appeared rather controlled, a likely sparring match.
The moonlight was shifting into a disadvantageous position at this point, and as a counter, Lunari summoned her staff and started bending light around her to counter the bright effects, if anyone looked, there would be a slight spacial distortion, but it was doubtful that anyone would see so occupied with the fight.
