What the fuck is this thing? the Chinese boy thought to himself as he fiddled with sleek piece of technology in his hands. His thumbs ran across each button, pressing them at random, and his eyes jittered as they followed things move and change on the LCD screen. So.. it's like a computer? What did that woman at the reception desk say it was called again? A MAC-10 or something, like the sub-machine gun? The pressing of buttons had becoming much more controlled as Jiao was now trying to figure the device out instead of screwing around with it.
This entire environment was a huge shock for the Sino. After he had left the "school"'s (if you could even call it that) enrollment office with the MAC, Jiao wandered the school grounds aimlessly, wondering where the hell he was supposed to go now. The woman in the enrollment office didn't tell him anything. She just gave him the handheld computer, and assured him everything he would need would be in it.
For the first time in a few minutes Jiao looked up from the MAC, scanning the area of the school grounds he was in. The chain-link fences, the barbed wire, the guards.. it was exactly what Jiao had thought when he was first brought here this morning. This place was more like a prison than a facility for education, and since he passed through the front gates, he knew this wasn't a place he wanted to be. There were probably going to be authority figures everywhere who wouldn't see eye-to-eye with him, and he'd have to change that.
He headed for the nearest building and attempted to open its front door, but it didn't budge. A little more prying was done, but to no avail. What the fuck, dude! One last violent struggle was made, but Jiao came up fruitless once again. "Fuck..." he sighed under his breath, bringing his left hand up and running it through his obsidian locks, while the other held the MAC. Now it was the right hand's turn to rise, Jiao bringing the handheld computer up to his face, inspecting it.
Am I supposed to use the MAC-10 to open this door somehow?

Alex walked through the school grounds, his bag slung over his shoulder, a book in his hand. He was reading a book he had taken from his room, and was currently heading to his room to put away his stuff before class begun. He passed by a building, only to hear the sound of muffled grunts, followed by the occasional grr. " What the hell?" he thought, stopping and looking up and around, what the hell was that sound?
Going in the direction of the sound he found his answer. It was a boy, a Chinese boy, who was looking very stupid trying to open the door by force. " Idiot." he sighed, closing his book and walking over, he heard the boy curse and run his hand through his hair, and when Alex got close enough, by that time the boy had pulled out his MAC and was inspecting it, didn't he know how to use it? Apparently not.
" You might want to try using your MAC to open the door, instead of looking like an idiot trying to force and pull it open." Alex called out, as he pulled out his own MAC from his jacket pocket and standing beside the guy, used it to open the door. Ta-dah! The door opened! Holy moley! It was magic! No, it wasn't. " There, isn't that easier?" he said sarcastically, stowing his own MAC away, his book held in his other hand.
" Didn't you get the instructions how to get into buildings here?" he asked, raising one eyebrow as he looked at the boy, was this guy for real? Everyone here knew the MAC was the only way to open building and classroom doors, get to the cafeteria, everywhere! Well, almost everywhere, certain places were off-limits, but besides that, without it, you can kiss getting into anywhere goodbye.
" Either you have no sense of technology, or you're new." Alex said, looking at the guy, he was betting on the second choice. " If you had tried to force it open anymore, you would have called down the wrath of the AI here, Solaris, and that's a big mistake." Alex said, sighing, good grief, did he have to give a crash course on using a MAC now!? Man, don't people give instructions to new people these days? Oh well, whatever.
" I'm Alex, and you are?" he asked the guy, boy did the guy look like an idiot a few minutes ago, grunting and struggling with the door, if Alex hadn't come by just then, he'd probably miss out on every one of his classes, just because he didn't know how to open the door, not to mention, people who walked by would probably be staring and saying what an idiot the guy is, sheesh. The guy had better pray hard it was only Alex that heard his futile efforts to open the door minutes ago.

Sephora's yellow lacy sundress danced around her knees as she made her way towards the door. She moved carefully, not wanting to hit anyone with her cast, last time the girl hadn't been too pleased. Her navy blue tote hung on the opposite shoulder, as she smiled at a girl she recognized, the action bringing slight pain to her still-bruised cheek.
Reaching the door, she lifted her MAC to open it. Before she could do anything else, though, it opened. With a startled look, she saw two boys standing in the doorway. One was Alex, she sort of knew him from a few classes they had together. The other she didn't know, though he was asian.
Waiting for them to move, nothing happened. It seemed that the boy she didn't know hadn't been able to figure out his MAC or it was broken or something. Alex hadn't seemed to notice her standing in the doorway, as he introduced himself to the other boy.
Standing there for another moment, she finally spoke, her accent almost hidden, "It's alright, I have all day." Sephora's tone was sarcastic but good-humored, a teasing smile on her pretty face.

Who the fuck is this guy, calling me an idiot? He's asking to get his face smeared across the pavement.
He watched closely as the other student opened the door with the MAC, and Jiao made sure to rememeber that for when he had to open other doors. Jiao really hated the sarcastic tone this boy was speaking to him with, and his face fell into a deep scowl as he glared at him. "Tch, I didn't ask for your help," the Sino said, swinging the door open and taking a step in, the other freshman's words falling upon deaf ears. Jiao would never make it inside the building, however, as a yellow roadblock prevented him from entering.
The scowl on his face warped into a pained grimace. I hate yellow, it makes me sick. Too bright and happy for my tastes. He didn't bother opening a way for the girl. If anybody was moving, it would be her. As if her yellow dress wasn't enough, the girl had to speak, with a good-natured, sarcastic tone, nonetheless, and a bright smile on her bruised face. "What do you have to be so happy about?" Jiao said to the girl, the tone of his voice matching the sternness of his face. It was actually a serious question; in the half-hour he'd been on the school grounds, Jiao couldn't find anything in this prison of a school worth smilling about.
Jiao turned his head to face the other boy, whose height and build were near identical to his own. It appeared as though he had introduced himself, the remnants of "Alex" leaving his lips as he extended his arm out toward the Chinese boy in a friendly gesture. He simply stared blankly at the hand, his chocolate eyes moving from the hand back to his face.
"Did you say something?"

"Tch, I didn't ask for your help." Well la de da. Alex was being nice, if the guy didn't want his help, then fine, Alex ignored him, and went back to reading his book, the guy had scowled and glared at Alex, oh if only the guy knew who Alex really was, would he snap back at Alex like that? Probably yes. As Alex continued reading, he turned around to walk away, only to hear someone else speak.
"It's alright, I have all day." That familiar voice made Alex look up and turn around, and he saw, much to his surprise and amusement, Sephora. " Well, if isn't Sephora. Didn't see you there." he said teasingly, as he saw her smile back teasingly. His book open in his hand, he noticed she was looking much better, though she was probably still in some pain, wounds like that don't heal that fast.
His explanations however, fell on deaf ears, as the guy ignored Alex and headed into the building after watching Alex open the door, only to come back out, he was blocked by Sephora, and he had a grimace on his face. "There's cameras everywhere. It really is like a prison, this school. Big brother is watching..." Uh yeah, this is a prison, hello! Alex stared blankly at the guy, was he really for real!?
" It is a prison." Alex said, sighing and closing his book again. " What did you think this place was, the student's here are either criminals or something else." Alex rolled his eyes, oh boy. What the guy said next continued to irk Alex even more. "What do you have to be so happy about?" A scowl appeared on Alex's face, " Hey! Don't go barking at Sephora." he said, this guy was really pushing it.
Take for instance, when Alex had introduced himself, he had held out his hand in a friendly gesture, but the guy had ignored it, so Alex let his hand fall and gave up, oh whatever. The guy stared blankly at Alex before saying something, which irked Alex slightly. "Did you say something?" No, Alex was just talking for the hell of it, he liked hearing his own voice. " ...are all new students like this?" he asked Sephora, looking at her, he was growing very weary of this guy. For now, Alex would ignore the guy, and talked to Sephora. " How's your arm? You're looking a lot better today." he said, smiling at her, deliberately ignoring the guy, having heard no name whatsoever.

The asian boy she didn't know stepped into the doorway and stared at her. His expression wasn't very jovial, even though he had just been outside. In fact, he looked stern and a bit irritated. "What do you have to be so happy about?" Well that wasn't very nice of him, glaring down at her like her was. What had she done to him? The boy also didn't move out of her way, and she wasn't about to move for him.
"Obviously not the same thing as you," She continued in her sarcastic tone, then said seriously, "I get to be outside."
" Well, if isn't Sephora. Didn't see you there." The girl smiled at his tone which matched her own, and waved with her good hand. She had to lean around the boy, though, as she wasn't going to move and make room for him to get in. He was going to move for her or they were going to stand there.
The boy hadn't responded to Alex's friendly introduction of himself, and she decided he probably wasn't a very nice guy or he was having a severely bad day. ...are all new students like this?" Slipping around the taller asian boy, Sephora smiled at Alex and shrugged, the movement causing a slight ache in her still healing ribs. Her sandaled feet stepped onto the grass and she sighed, being outside was so much better than being inside.
" How's your arm? You're looking a lot better today." Alex asked her, no longer looking at the other boy, in a way that screamed I'M IGNORING YOU!
"It's doing better, Nurse Emma said I get to take it off in a few weeks, while my father's doctor said I have to wait longer." She grinned again and shrugged once more, regretting this one as well. "I am doing better, though, thanks for noticing. I trust you are doing the same?"
Sephora knelt down carefully and took off her sandals, slipping them into the tote. She loved being barefoot in the grass. Looking at the nameless boy, she wondered if she should play along and ignore him. Not sure, she looked away, the sunlight shining on her bruises and dark auburn hair.

They just had to tease Jiao's egocentricity, didn't they?
The two freshman, the girl dressed in yellow and the Japanese-looking fellow, were having a conversation while Jiao was standing right in between them. Now, if that wasn't rude enough, the girl even tried to lean around him to get a better look at the other freshman, which Jiao would have none of. As soon as she got too close a hand was placed firmly on her shoulder, shoving her away and back into the building. "Am I fucking invisible or something?" Jiao seethed, turning to other boy immediately after, just in case he didn't take to well to his lady friend being pushed.
Regardless of whether the Japanese-looking boy reacted or not, Jiao would step forward, placing his right hand on his chest and violently shove him away a few feet to create distance before saying, "I asked you something, idiot. Are you going to answer me," with his right arm extended in front of him, he curled his stiff fingers, the joints popping audibly, "or is the custodian going have to scrape the remains of your face off the pavement?"

"Obviously not the same thing as you, I get to be outside." Alex heard Sephora say to the boy, and then smiled at him when he had said hello to her, actually, more like leaned around the guy to smile at Alex. At his question about whether all new students were like this guy, that is to say, a killjoy, he saw Sephora shrug her shoulders and step outside onto the grass, sighing, he had a feeling she was happier outside, which is where he was currently standing, his book left unfinished for another day. Truth be told, he liked being outside than inside, outside, you feel like you're free, inside, you feel like you're trapped.
At his question asking her if she was alright, she grinned and shrugged. "It's doing better, Nurse Emma said I get to take it off in a few weeks, while my father's doctor said I have to wait longer." Yes, clearly Alex was tired of the guy, what a killjoy indeed, how do you like them apples? "I am doing better, though, thanks for noticing. I trust you are doing the same?" " Yeah, I'm fine, I was reading my book, it's pretty good." he answered, indicating at the book in his hand.
The mood however, turned sour, for the guy laid a hand on Sephora and shoved her back, seething. "Am I fucking invisible or something?" Alex did not want to answer this question, and continued ignoring the guy, instead moving forward to help Sephora. He didn't make it however, as the guy placed a hand on Alex's chest and shoved him back. Alex stumbled back, his expression cold as soon as he regained his balance. "I asked you something, idiot. Are you going to answer me, or is the custodian going have to scrape the remains of your face off the pavement?"
Alex sighed, their conversation would have to wait another time. " I don't know, you tell me. Are you invisible?" Alex was growing very tired of this, the guy was now just plain annoying, he had tried to be friendly, but now he had enough of this. " I don't think the custodian will have to clean up, because there'll be nothing to clean." Alex retorted, this boy was not very smart to tangle with Alex, and frankly, Alex didn't feel like fighting, especially pricks like this guy. Motioning to Sephora to follow, Alex turned around and walked off, hopefully resuming their conversation in a...much better place.

" Yeah, I'm fine, I was reading my book, it's pretty good." Sephora nodded and moved to pass the nameless boy, opening her mouth to ask what book he was reading. The sound didn't come, though, as the nameless boy put his hand on her shoulder and pushed.
Staring at him wide-eyed, she was shocked. This was a completely unpromted assault, she had done nothing to deserve it. The boy had been rude and she had been curt, it was true, but nothing to warrant actually touching her. Her eyes narrowed and she was ready to use her Qi and made this boy pay, but Alex was up and moving towards her in a heartbeat. Her back had slammed into the door and her healing ribs ached from it, so she was glad she didn't have to do anything more to him.
Her mind was taken from this train of thought, though, when the boy shoved Alex away from her. He looked irritated but didn't attack the new boy. Good for him, keeping his cool. " I don't know, you tell me. Are you invisible? I don't think the custodian will have to clean up, because there'll be nothing to clean." She pushed off of the door, which she had been leaning on, and followed Alex at his motion.
She limped slightly while passing the boy whose name she didn't know, no longer smiling. Irritation marred her delicate features and her good hand was pressed against her ribs, which still ached from the shove. As one of her toes dug into the ground with a step, a very small amount of poison sumac grew around the new boy's foot. If it rubbed off on his shoe and he then touched the shoe, the new boy would have a very uncomfortable night.

"Tch."
The freshman's clever retorts earned nothing but sneer from the Chinese boy. I suppose he's one of those types that were taught to settle things with words, and that if you ignore a bully, they'll leave you alone. Not with me, though.
Jiao turned his head to look at the girl he had shoved. She picked herself up and began to walk passed him, following the other student. Her agitated expression made Jiao's face break out into a wide grin, but he was not satisfied with only that. These freshmen believed they could just brush him off like some common fly, and they were about to be horribly mistaken. The girl in the yellow sun dress was visibly injured, cradling her ribs and limping somewhat, which Jiao decided to use to his advantage.
Before the girl managed to get completely passed him, Jiao stuck out his right leg, swinging it back so his calf would meet with both of her shins, while placing his right hand on her upper back and pushing her so that when she tried to step foward and regain her balance, she'd only trip over Jiao's leg. Once the girl was face-down on the pavement, Jiao stepped over her so that her body was between his feet. He would make it appear as if he was sitting on her back, but really, he was only squatting over her so that she couldn't escape. He wasn't malicious; he wasn't about to put his weight on the body of a girl who had injured ribs. Jiao had a teeny bit of sympathy.
Jiao's left hand rested upon the girl's head, while his right elbow was propped up on his knee, his jaw fitting nicely into the palm of his hand. "Hooooy, pussy," he yelled out to the back of the freshman, ruffling the girl's dark hair as he continued, "You going to protect your girlfriend here or what?"

"Tch." Alex rolled his eyes again, this guy was prick, a killjoy, and rude all rolled into one little nice neat package. Oh, and did Alex forget to mention mean too? Well now he did. As Sephora walked past the guy, Alex saw from the corner of his eye the guy move, and Alex's eyes flashed, just what was the guy doing? He didn't plan on attacking Sephora did he? Yes, he did.
Before Alex could even say a word the guy stuck out his right leg, angled in such a way that both of Sephora's shins would make contact with it and placed his right hand on her upper back and pushed her, so that she would go tripping over his leg. While this all took place, Alex stood there, wide-eyed, unable to say anything, yet. When he regained his focus, believe me, Alex would have a whole lot to say.
With Sephora flat on the pavement, the guy proceeded to step over her so her body was in between his legs. Not a great scene, I know, but that's how it was. He then proceeded to sit on Sephora, though upon closer inspection, the guy actually wasn't, he was more or less squatting above her. The guy's left hand was on Sephora's head, his right elbow resting on his knee, his chin in his right palm, looking all the world like he had won a contest or something. Yeah, right." Sephora!" Alex shouted, now he was back from his blank moment, and he was irritated, but he kept his cool, though the guy didn't help very much either, he wanted to egg Alex on, keep trying pal.
"Hooooy, pussy. You going to protect your girlfriend here or what?" This guy was really pushing the limit here, oh yes he was. Wait, back up. Girlfriend? What!? Ah forget that, action now, discuss later. " You better get off of her you aho." Alex said calmly, combining English and Japanese together, though he only used one word of Japanese, he lifted his fist up in front of him, was he going to do anything? Well, he would, but it would involve burning, and he didn't want to hurt Sephora, " Come on Sephora, use your Qi, get him off of you so I can get a clean shot..." Alex thought, his eyes narrowing in concentration.

As Sephora was moving away from the new boy, she saw a quick movement just a moment too late. His leg had shot out, smacking into both of her shins. Trying to catch her balance and having trouble due to her injuries, the girl suddenly felt his hand on her slender back. He pushed her down so that she collided with the pavement, her cast thunking hard and cracking at the elbow.
Stunned, she lay for a moment. Her ribs were bruised now and her bruised cheek had smacked against the cement. It would most likely swell. She saw the boy's foot on her left and decided he was standing over her. His hand rested on her head and she felt something, she presumed his rear end, brush against her back.
Alex shouted her name and overwhelming rage took the girl by force. Luckily, she had been learning how to use her strange Qi in combat. The poison sumac died as she reached to the grass, poking her finger in.
Lifting her arm, Sephora used all of her strength and slammed her cast into his knee. In the same instant, a vine alien to the area shot up and she ripped off a thorn, jamming it into the boy's other calf. He jumped up and she scrambled out of under him, pulling the other three thorns off of the vine just incase he came after her.
"I'm ok." She said to Alex, still glaring at the boy whose name she still didn't know. "You ass-hole." This was directed at her assailant.

The Japanese freshman appeared rather dumbfounded at what he had done, standing there, staring blankly like he had just killed the girl. Soon after he snapped out of it, calling out the girl's name, causing Jiao's grin to widen as he got what he desired. Sephora? Bizarre name. No matter, I've got his attention now.
The boy shouted a threat at him, implying that terrible things would happen by telling him that he better get off of Sephora. Jiao was getting more excited by the second. More words were shouted out by the freshman, but they were not directed at the Sino; he was telling the girl to use her qi, causing Jiao's grin to falter for second, allowing a look of perplexion to cross his face for but a moment before returning to its previous state. What the fuck? Qi? Like that weird shirt shit gramps taught me? Tch, I don't need any of that to win fights.
Given Jiao's position on her back, Sephora would find it difficult to effectively strike him with her cast. Her arm sailed through the air awkwardly, landing on his left knee with no more force than a tennis ball being chucked at him. Jiao let a small laugh escape his lips, but the girl had effectively distracted him from her true intent. A sharp pain ran up the boy's calf, causing him to instantly react by hopping forward and to the left, away from the source of pain. The jump was short and compact. Jiao tucked his head into his chest as his shoulder hit the ground, causing him to roll forward and spring up into a crouched position. He took a quick glance at his right leg; there was some blood, but the wound was shallow for the most part, and wouldn't hinder him significantly.
Mentions of assholes could be heard from behind the Chinese boy, but he paid them no mind. His focus was on the Japanese student, who had his fists up, looking prepared to fight. Jiao rose from the crouch into a low stance, his knees bent and his back straight. His right foot was leading, and his right arm was extended in front of him and level with his cheek bone, his elbow bent at an approximately 120-degree angle. Jiao's left elbow was tucked tightly into his ribs, and both hands were held in loose fists, ready to strike or grab at a moment's notice.

"Alright guys break it up now!" Lunari had been watching from a classroom a little ways away down the hallway, not by regular means...in fact, she wouldn't have noticed if Sephora hadn't used her distinct Qi abilities. But now, instead of enjoying a nice cup of green tea, the small girl would have to break up yet another fight.
She walked down the hall, quickly seperating the assaliants before they got out of hand. "You guys are complete idiots! Fighting before class, you know better than that, or at least I had hoped. If Solaris found out, I can assure you it wouldn't be too pretty." Lunari eyed each one of them. "Sephora, you're in no true condition to fight. Alex, you're a Hikari, you know better than that. I don't care if you think you have free reign, because you don't. Got it? And as for you..." He looked up at the new boy. "I recommend that you don't TRY and get into a fight. I can guarentee that there are going to be some kids who can best you. And you won't know who until you get to the infirmary."
Lunari started to walk away back to her sushi and tea.
"If I see ANY Qi activation, I swear it won't end well." She said rather threateningly, her eyes glowing brighter at the notion. "Now get along."

As Alex stood there, hoping that Sephora could escape, he saw her hand reach for the grass, and stcuk her finger in it. " Yes!" he silently cheered in his head, as she swung her cast at him, colliding with the guys knee, but at the same time, a vine sprung up, and she grasped a thorn, and stuck into the guy's calf, effectively getting him off her.
He watched her pull the rest of the thorns with her as she stood beside him. "I'm ok." " I'm glad." he replied, as she shot a insult at the guy, "You ass-hole." Ditto. Alex watched with narrow eyes as the guy got into a stance, but before any punches were thrown, a voice shouted out. "Alright guys break it up now!" Alex straightened up, and turned his head, and saw it was Lunari Awren, and she clearly was not happy.
"You guys are complete idiots! Fighting before class, you know better than that, or at least I had hoped. If Solaris found out, I can assure you it wouldn't be too pretty."Sephora, you're in no true condition to fight. Alex, you're a Hikari, you know better than that. I don't care if you think you have free reign, because you don't. Got it? And as for you..." Alex saw her turn her head to face the new guy, Mr. No Name Attacker.
"I recommend that you don't TRY and get into a fight. I can guarentee that there are going to be some kids who can best you. And you won't know who until you get to the infirmary." Alex sighed, he hadn't planned on fighting unless she had too, he would only fight to protect Sephora, she was not in much condition to fight. " Sorry, I guess I went over the line." he apologized, motioning to Sephora for them to leave.
As he watched Lunari leave, she left them one final message."If I see ANY Qi activation, I swear it won't end well. Now get along." Of course, Alex would have to be stupid to stick around and continue fighting. " Let's go." And with that, he picked up his book that had fallen on the ground, and walked off, what a nightmare. He dusted off his book, and smiled at Sephora. " I'm glad you're not hurt too much. Are you alright? Should we go to the Infirmary? Your cheek is bleeding." he realized, pulling out a handkerchief and holding it out for her.
