The library was one of the few places almost anyone could get along. Fights were among rarities here among the vast collection of books, and most of the background noise was destroyed by microphones implanted in the walls that inverted signals 180 degrees and broadcast them back out. Regular talk sounded like a whisper, and any clanking of metal or other objects was immediately and utterly suppressed. Yes, even the library had technology of sorts.
The microphones however, had no work to do, as Aternity, on his jump in, landed in a mostly silent fashion, brushing himself as he did so. He'd landed in what appeared to be the fantasy section of the library. Not too bad of a blind jump. It certainly beat landing somewhere in the bathrooms, as he'd already done once before. That incident cost a lot of the happiness he had over the week, not like he had much to start off with. Oh well, a bookworm at its finest, Aternity set off to find something to read of sorts. Most any genre would do...
Sci-fi sounded pretty good about now.

Reira had absolutely nothing to do today. It was one of those odd days. Usually when she had nothing planned she'd entertain herself with something other then books. Never books. Well unless they were comic books, manga, or urban fantasy those were okay, but any other uninteresting big books...not so much. It surprised her to when she found herself lounging in the library. She had never been here before, so it was something different. She even found a book that was somewhat decent enough for her to read. It was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. The cover caught her eye quickly...something about vampires..hmm. Seemed urban fantasyish enough.
Settling herself into a lounge chair, she began to flip through the pages, reading a little bit while doing so. This book wasn't so bad. This library was really nice, actually. Maybe she'd come here more often. It was so quiet..no annoying people. No over excessive talking...Wait, scratch that, talked to soon. Reira's eyebrow twitched when she heard the voices of a group of boys. Four of them in all.
They had seated themselves in the chairs behind her and began to talk very rudely about a girl named Jane. Reira didn't know this Jane that well, but she knew she was going through a hard time, and all the aweful things they were saying about her were hardly true! Boys these days.. Focusing on her book Reira tried to ignore them. It was none of her business after all...but..the numbe of profanities that came ouf of the lead boys mouth was astounding! Most of them lies.
"Slut," came one of them. "Dumb dyke!" said the third. "Get this, I head that.."
Reira slapped Twilight abruptly shut, got up out of her seat, and then turned to face the gang. "Grow up your miserable git!," Reira said, throwing Twilight on a nearby table. "Just because Jane dumped you for being a asswipe, doesn't mean you can start all these rumours about her. Your just mad at youself, and now you are taking it out on her! You lowly..SOB!" she shouted at the boy she recognized as Jane's ex. Yep, she had did it this time. Totally lost her temper...why did she always do that.
The ex shot out of his seat like lightening, his goons following. Reira turned away from them, not wanting anything more to do with the lot. "Why are you defending her! Huh," said the ex, the leader. "You must be a whore just like her!" All of them began to laugh, following the role of their leader. Reira's fingers were tapping against her thigh madly. Everyword he said was pushing her closer and closer to the edge...which could not be good.
Not giving a damn about the consequences at the moment, Reira, placed her fingers around a big hard covered dictionary. "You know..I really can't stand thickheaded people like you...I hate how you beg for ATTENTION!," she said turning around and throwing the montrous book at the ex's face. It hit dead on, right inbetween his eyes. Reira stood their frozen. The ex had collapsed to the ground an wasn't getting up. Her and the rest of the gang exchanged looks.
"Oh! Well..I guess.. he wasn't as thickheaded as he claimed to be," she said backing away slowly, knowing damn well the other three boys were going to follow her and maybe even throw a book a her. "Get her!" one said. Time to run! Reira instinctively darted into a sprint, leading the boys into the labryinth of bookshelves, hoping to lose them in there.
Temper got the best of you...again...

Aternity had long picked up a book on quantum physics, and sat at one of the many comfortable chairs that had been strewn liberally across the main floor of the library. He'd begun his read, working through some of the theory behind the possibilities of teleportation, his Qi ability. Phase jumping wasn't a very precise art, at least, not yet it wasn't. He could get to a general location...but arriving on target reliably was a whole different can of worms. So were portals. More accurate...but he couldn't yet grow them big enough to send bodies through...small objects, but nothing large like a human.
He began to study in depth stuff he already understood to his capacity...the Hesenburg Uncertainty Principle...among other topics he wasn't ready to grasp. Oh well, those would have to come in due time.
"Grow up your miserable git!"
"What the hell?" Aternity blurted out quietly. All that stuff he thought about the library being quiet had all of a sudden become fable as a small confrontation broke out behind him. There goes all the peace and quiet he was hoping for...oh well. Too bad.
"Just because Jane dumped you for being a asswipe, doesn't mean you can start all these rumours about her. Your just mad at yourself, and now you are taking it out on her! You lowly..SOB!"
Oh jeez, it was one of these. Silly drama that just started shit for everyone else. Why in the library? Why now? God damn it. "You know..I really can't stand thickheaded people like you...I hate how you beg for ATTENTION!" The pink-haired girl chucked a book at what appeared to be the leader of the gang of four, knocking him out cold. Ouch...that was definitely leave a mark.
At about this point, Aternity was annoyed enough to get out of his seat to settle the issue. He took his book, and opened two portals. One in the table, and one on the book case. They were just big enough this time to fit the book through, and as one of the members came around, Aternity slammed the book through the portal, coming out the second, and taking down a gang member. He then closed the portals and devised his plan.
He'd have to choose a side to get his peace and quiet. The gang, or the girl. Based on his unfriendly nature, he'd take the gang, but the girl...something just appealed to him. Nah, get the girl, and get out. Aternity, you've done enough harm in this world don't you think?
Sneaking behind one of the bookcases they were running through...Aternity waited patiently. Finally, the girl bolted down the corridor, the two guys jumping at her. At the last second, as she was about to round the corner, Aternity grabbed all the way around her. "Hang on!"
*FOOMP!*
The jump was instant...but not where he wanted to be. Instead of landing outside the library, they had ended up at the highest point of the entire school. Atop the massive 40 story central tower. Solaris wouldn't be happy.
"Shit." He mentioned, still holding the girl.

Oh dear. If this was on film, Reira could've sworn that some Benny Hill song would be playing. She herself, the game being hunted. Pumping her legs, Reira dashed in and out of all the bookshelves, trying her best to avoid the boys. What would they do if they caught her. Hmm? She didn't need that answer. Having a pretty good lead on them, she had the courage to look behind her. To her surprise a guy was actually pretty close to catching up.
"Uh-oohh...," she squealed, running faster. Still looking behind her, she saw a book sail right across the air and knock him out cold. Wow! She may have started a new sport, Book Chucking! What really bothered her, was how she felt at the moment. She wasn't frightened...she was enjoying the chase...very weird. But being in this prison, there wasn't a lot to keep you entertained. Maybe she was just losing her mind!
"Ooof!" she grunted as she felt something crash into her. Silly her for not paying attention to where she was going! Before she could even calculate what was happening she heard a smoothe "Hang on!" Reira began to panick. "Hang on..hang on to what! Why?!" She was then well aware of a pair of arms around her, holding on to her tightly. The next logical step would be wrap her arms around the person. That she did.
*FOOMP!*
Then something very strange happened. She didn't see it occuring, for her eyes were squeezed shut against this stranger's torso, but she certainly felt it. It only lasted for a millisecond. She felt cold, like for a brief moment, her body was very lite, so lite that she could have floated away in the wind. It was disorienting and just as fast as the feeling washed over her it was gone.
Wait a minute. It was windy now..very windy. Reira could feel the strong breeze whipping her hair about her face. Why was it windy in the library? Still clutching to her rescuer, she opened her yes and..
"AHHHHHHHH," she screamed loudly, grabbing onto the person more tightly. They were on the edge of a very very high tower. Just one small nudge backwards and Reira would be free falling. Not really one for sky diving, let alone heights, she leaned all her weight against the person that held her, and pushed them forward, causing them to stumble aimlessly to the rooftop. A scrape was better then a splatter.
There was a small stinging sensation in her hands, for she had used them to break her fall. Ignoring them for the moment, she finally had a good look at her beholder. It was a boy, with orange eyes and dazzling green hair. Still very dazed, she said "What did you do! Where are we!! It's so high!..." A rush of wind hit her. Reira didn't want to stand, for fear of wobbling off the roof, the wind helping her do so.

Well, considering all the bad luck today, Aternity wasn't too surprised at the result of his blind jump. By calculations, and some good old fashioned observation, Aternity could determine they were on top of the massive 40-story central tower of the school. Jeezus. Just the luck.
The girl he had been onto let out a rather loud scream. He'd come for peace and quiet, and found just the exact opposite. Rushes of wind, the screaming of a frightened girl...to be honest, Aternity had no feeling for the girl, he was just doing what was right, but now, the fact he'd once again hurt someone he didn't mean to tore at his heart. In an effort to get away from the roof, the girl had pushed him forward, making Aternity land on his back facing up.
The jump hadn't failed, but he certainly didn't want to be here. In another problem, Aternity was left without any sort of Qi left in him, leaving the boy winded, and unable to port down from the tower. For the next hour or so, the two were stranded. Hopefully nothing too important happened, it would be a shame to miss class because he tried to get down, and only got halfway, falling the rest.
"What did you do! Where are we!! It's so high!..." Well, the answer to that was easy enough. "I wanted some quiet, and the guys annoying you started to bug me. So I solved two problems and teleported outside the library...a little too far apparently."

"I wanted some quiet, and the guys annoying you started to bug me. So I solved two problems and teleported outside the library...a little too far apparently." Oh, well that was just marvelous wasn't it, solving a problem with another problem. She knew this was the work of a Qi power, a rather nice one at that...teleportation. Why was this fellow in a prison school if he could just teleport out? "Teleported?!," Reira said, sitting on the rooftop, not looking one bit amused. "Thanks for helping me and all, but could you get me down now. Looking around, there are no stairs, and I think I'm going to throw some chunks!"
Truth be told, Reira was terrible with heights. It wasn't something she was proud of, but just knowing she was so high up made her stomach churn. If that wasn't bad enough, her hands were throbing. Upon further inspection, she realized she had cut them up pretty bad. There was only a small amount of blood. Glaring at her palms, she just wiped them on her pant legs and decided to deal with them later. It was no big deal.
When the boy didn't answer her question right away, she crawled over to him. Yes crawled, she didn't trust herself to stand quite yet. He was flat on his back. Looming over him, she held out her arms like she wanted a hug. "Okay, let's get to the ground now." The wind blew more fiercerly, and Reira prayed to the rain gods, that it wouldn't start a thunderstorm. When he didn't do anything she dropped her arms down to her sides.
"Please tell me you can get us down from here. I don't have my MAC with me and I'd hate to be stuck here when the grey clouds up there start to pour." She sighed. "It's a no right...I can tell....by that look on your face," she moaned flopping herself to lie down beside him in despair, watching the clouds darken above her. "Names Reira by the way.."
Might as well get to know eachother while they were stuck up here, for god knows how long. If they did that at least, it wouldn't be so boring. Actually, if it wasn't so windy, and it was a calm sunny day, sitting up here wouldn't be so bad. Of course, such was Reira's luck.

"Teleported?!, Thanks for helping me and all, but could you get me down now. Looking around, there are no stairs, and I think I'm going to throw some chunks!" Aternity once again looked down, and feeling a little naueous, pulled his head back and crawled to the center and laid with his head to the sky. He wasn't injured much, just some sore joints and all from the landing. Normal stuff for a jumper honestly.
"Please tell me you can get us down from here. I don't have my MAC with me and I'd hate to be stuck here when the grey clouds up there start to pour." Aternity was about to say something until she continued. "It's a no right...I can tell....by that look on your face," The girl had read him like a book, inside and out. Was he really that obvious? Apparently so. Oh well. Not like it mattered much up here.
"Good guess...I'm all out of Qi..." That was half truth. He wasn't out, but he wasn't going to risk jumping down 40 stories without full levels of Qi. As for the clouds...
"I don't think we even have a choice...I really don't want to call my brother, he wouldn't be a happy camper if he found us here...nor would Doc in that case. The last thing I need is for him yelling at me again." Ah yes. His brother. None other than Mr. Solaris Awren himself. He'd already gotten in trouble once for accidentally jumping into the girls locker room once. Boy, that wasn't a pretty sight whatsoever. This one? Probably even worse.
"Names Reira by the way.."
"Aternity, nice to meet you." He said that in his more friendly voice. There was no point in being miserable twice over when an impending storm was coming after all.

"Good guess...I'm all out of Qi..." When Reira heard this she slapped her forehead with her hand and slowly draged it down her face, in a over dramatic gesture. 'Why me' she thought, then sighed. Well might as well make the best of the situation. Thinking like that, could very well turn her doom and gloom into something a little more bearable. "I guess we're stuck up here then."
"I don't think we even have a choice...I really don't want to call my brother, he wouldn't be a happy camper if he found us here...nor would Doc in that case. The last thing I need is for him yelling at me again." Reira rolled over to her side, her back facing him. Who was his brother she wondered? Obviously he had to be someone influential. She laughed slightly at the mention of the Doc. She could picture him just fuming if he had to rescue them from their situation. Poor little Doc..she squished him in her mind and brushed the thought of him away.
Following the idea that making the best of this situation would lighten her mood, she introduced herself. Now on her back again, she turned her head to look at him. "Aternity, nice to meet you." Her eyebrow raised. Where had she heard that name before, oh right Matrim told her about him once. "Nice to finally meet you Aternity. I heard about you once, from Matrim." A small raindrop fell from the sky and landed on her cheek.
Many more rain drops quickly followed. It started off as a small drizzle, then a small shower and eventually and all out storm. "Whew! This is crazy!" she said in a small laugh. She was in a much better mood now, knowing that she was safely in the center of the roof, no where near the sides. The rain continued to pelter down on them. Soon, Reira's, t-shirt, shorts, and knee high converse were soaking.
"I'm going to be so sick after this. Aren't you?" she asked, totally forgiving. She decided there was no need to be mad at him for getting her stuck up here..in a possible thunderstorm. The intent was good, and Reira never really minded the rain...when it she was warm at least. When she got cold..it was never a nice thing.
"If we get stranded up here for a long while, at least we'll have lot's of water," she said jokingly.

The first thing he heard after himself talking was a loud slap on her forehead, coupled with some dramatic motion. It was probably called for if just because of the predicament Aternity had put them in. 40 stories up, and now...not enough Qi for the 40 stories down. He could jump down, as most people do, but that was likely to end up in a bad way.
"I guess we're stuck up here then."
"Pretty much, unless you want to jump..." Aternity looked down again. "But then again..." He went back to his spot and laid down. There was NO way he was calling Solaris or the Doc to get them down. He didn't need another scolding from those two. Reira meanwhile rolled over. Understandable, she was likely angry for that little stunt, even though it wasn't his fault. "I'm sorry for getting you into this mess by the way Reira. I was kind of under pressure if you know what I mean..."
She turned back over at him which was rather nice, maybe she'd forgive him after all. "Nice to finally meet you Aternity. I heard about you once, from Matrim." Ugh. Matrim. The leader of the so-called gang. Aternity wasn't much for enforcement or violence. He just liked to be able to move about without being pinned down too much, simple as that. Gang activities would bring him down later...
Drops of water began to fall from the cloudy sky. First small and dismal, then increasing well in size and intensity. He'd picked the wrong time to jump out of the library. Oh well, nothing to do about it now. "Whew! This is crazy!" That it indeed was. Aternity looked down a moment, then decided to take off his jacket and hand it over to Reira. It was the least he could do right now, being already warm. "Here. This should help. It's nanotech, it'll adjust to your body and keep you toasty warm for the time being." Aternity was left with nothing but a t-shirt and his half-sleeves on his arms.
"I'm going to be so sick after this. Aren't you?"
"Oh, probably, but I'll deal with it." He said with a smile. A good nights sleep and some hot tea cured everything.
"If we get stranded up here for a long while, at least we'll have lot's of water."
"True that." Aternity laughed with her, it was kind of nice up here anyhow, he'd gotten what he wanted, at least some peace, and someone to share it with for awhile.

Yep, they were stuck up here, more or less. At least for a good hour or so. If she really wanted off this roof, she'd have to jump, just like Aternity had said. Totally out of the question! It wasn't that bad being up here, it was interesting, something different, something sorta fun, she concluded with an inward smile. "I'm sorry for getting you into this mess by the way Reira. I was kind of under pressure if you know what I mean..." She turned to him and smiled. "Nah don't worry about. It's the thought that counts, at least you were trying to aim for the ground, " she said with a laugh. "Besides, this is half my fault to. If I hadn't thrown dictionaries around...you'd find your peace and quiet."
The two of them remaind sitting in the rain. Reira's gaze was fixated on the millions of raindrops making their assault on them. She liked rain..it refreshed the earth, it refreshed her. Her mind else where, she hadn't noticed that her teeth had began chattereing and she as sitting up hugging her knees. "Here. This should help. It's nanotech, it'll adjust to your body and keep you toasty warm for the time being." Reira snapped out of her reverie. "Oh! Thanks! But won't you be cold? That's hardly fair...I wish this thing was big enough to share."
Wait he said this thing was made out of nanotechs..What exactly were those. Reira was a little behind the technology age, likeing the more traditional way of things. Heck, she still only figured out half the things her MAC was capable of. Her thoughts ran amid again and she began to think of nanotechs as small bug looking things..that were on her now. She let out a small shiver..maybe it was from the coldness, who knew. But the jacket was starting to warm her up, and she was very thankful for it.
The rain continued, but this time it came with a long loud crack. Thunder. Reira went rigid. With thunder came lightening. They were on the highest point in the school! If the storm happens to be close enough...well you get the picture. It wasn't to her surprise that her hair was staticky, raised ever so slighly. She patted it down furiously, to no avail.
"Do these nanotechs protect against a thousand volts of electricity?," she asked in a wry half smile. What ever were they going to do now? Wait the storm out, of course.

"Nah don't worry about. It's the thought that counts, at least you were trying to aim for the ground, besides, this is half my fault to. If I hadn't thrown dictionaries around...you'd find your peace and quiet."
That was true enough, but in all honestly, Aternity had CHOSEN to become involved in that scuffle of his own free will, possibly saving a girl he didn't even know from some serious harm. The comparable quiet and chaos from the rain more than outweighed the disadvantages of being on the roof.
Not only that, but Reira was sincerely friendly to him. A rarity considering his heirtage...an Awren. Most people tended to avoid them, the orange eyes were noted by some as seductively beautiful, only to be trusted by fools. Aternity was out to prove that wrong.
"Oh! Thanks! But won't you be cold? That's hardly fair...I wish this thing was big enough to share." Aternity checked out from his trance. There was in fact a way to make that jacket bigger. Nanotech was a one size operation. "Here..." Aternity unbuckled the half-sleeves from his arms and coupled them to the jacket, then climbed into the jacket with her. In reaction, the nanites inside the cloth expanded to let the both of them in. "I forgot I could do that." He mentioned, chuckling a little bit. "I figured you don't want to share my pants either."
A thunderous boom resonated through the air, making both heads of hair sharing the jacket stand on end. "Oh...why now..." Realizing there we electronics in his glasses, he stuffed them in his pocket as a flash of lightning came down, missing the tower. "Oh jeez." Electricity was dangerous. His Qi was linked to it, if he were to get struck, or near-struck, he'd be unable to make the jump down.
"Do these nanotechs protect against a thousand volts of electricity?" Aternity was a little frightened by now, there was little he was scared of, but the fact was, he was 40 stories up, with an electrical storm bearing down on them. He was also blind without his glasses on. "I don't Reira, I don't want to find out either." Aternity tried as hard as he could to lay closer to the roof, without much effect.
This whole ordeal was turning out to be hell...

Oh. So the nanotech jacket was big enough for the two of them to share. "Here," Aternity stated simply, doing something to the jacket that Reira missed completely, but right before her eyes, the jacket had expanded to fit both of them in it. Must be the nanotechs..she'd never get her mind around how they worked. Infact, she wasn't sure she wanted to. "That was a neat trick you did there," she said, as Aternity climbed into the jacket with her, well it was more like a blanket now. "I forgot I could do that." He mentioned, chuckling. "I figured you don't want to share my pants either." She raised an eyebrow and laughed. "No thanks, they wouldn't fit me anyway, and I like my pants better."
The two of them had very different styles, that was for sure. She thought Aternity looked very classy, really high tech. She, on the other hand, was quite laid back and punkish. She was once again distracted from that thought, when another thunderous boom was heard from above. Lightening striked minutes after, just missing the tower. Okay, now Reira was worrying.
The two of them both looked more then a little nervous, as the hair on their heads raised. On any other day, she'd laugh at how silly he looked, she'd probably laugh at herself to. She heard Aternity mutter some things, but Reira was paying more attention to the lightening threat. She then asked him about the nanotechs being immune to lightening.
"I don't know Reira, I don't want to find out either." "Well if the lightening hits any closer, we'll find out soon."
What else could the two do? They were sitting ducks up here. The only thing Reira could depend on was her luck and her strong hold on her sanity. But heaven knows that Reira had very bad luck sometimes, hopefully Aternity had a lot of the good stuff.
"Since we are so high up...you'd think there would be a lightening rod of some sorts." Her voice was starting to hurt from trying to yell over the rain, thunder, and wind.
Oh crud..what a bad predicament I'm in. This can't be then end right? I mean I did promise Riley I wouldn't go and get myself killed anytime soon. And I still have to find my mother, and what about Mat? Alex? Ugh....*groan* This is like a horrible math problem gone terribly wrong!

"That was a neat trick you did there," Huzzah. Kudos! That was one of the things Aternity was going for in this school, a decent reputation, someone who could be trusted enough to do some things for people without getting yelled at and such. It was a small, but important step for him. Now if he could just find a way out of his own mistake, he could make just a few more of those precious points.
"Well if the lightning hits any closer, we'll find out soon." That comment made Aternity start to think about how to get down, but unfortunately, he made a sudden realization as he was looking down in his thinking demeanor. Nobody was ever meant to be this high. He couldn't see since he took off his glasses, but he noticed something peculiar about the roof, it was rough, but not in the normal way. It felt as if it was partly metallic. Wait.
This tower was meant to be immune to lots of things.
That included electrical bursts.
That meant it needed a bigger lightning rod.
That meant...
Oh god.
Aternity once again grabbed Reira, a bit lighter this time, and phased about 15 feet over to the exact middle of the roof as a lightning bolt struck about 2 feet from where they were just sitting.
The entire roof was ionized in a titanium alloy. The lightning was attracted to it like a bear to honey.
"Sorry...we have to get down from here, like, right now."

Aternity didn't repsond to her last statement about the lightening possibly coming closer then it already was. She looked at him and studied his face. He was thinking hard about something, she figured she'd leave him alone with his thoughts. How many times had she wandered into her own mind? It was only fair.
Another thunderous boom sounded. It made her jump slightly, causing her to move closer to him. Their shoulders almost brushed now. The raindrops made it very hard to see anything, she had to continaully wipe her eyes. Looking around, she noticed the roof was odd. It was weird looking, for lack of a better word. Hmm.
Luckily for her, Aternity had finished what she had been thinking for her. In a matter of seconds, she felt Aternity grab her roughly and phase her and him into the middle of the roof. She insticntively clung to him, stifling a scream.
"Oh my god..,' she breathed, glancing over to where they were just sitting. The area was now black and steaming slightly from a recent lightening bolt. Evidence of a jump scar was there. Her adrenaline was beginning to spike.
"Sorry...we have to get down from here, like, right now." He said to her, letting her go. She nodded madly. "I agree, but I thought you couldn't teleport for a while. Will you be able to do it? I trust you and everything..."
If he didn't have enough Qi left for the jump, they could find themself dead from sudden impact. Which was the heavier choice. Remain on the tower, and surely die. Or teleport, where there was a chance of escaping with minor injuries.
"Let's do it!," she said right before another a crack of thunder sounded...

"I don't suppose that bolt could have gotten any closer...there's no lightning rod because this whole roof is one!" This startling revelation meant they could no longer stay safely on the roof. Maybe if they'd brought their own lightning rod, they wouldn't be in this whole mess, but, considering the circumstances, they hadn't done TOO badly. 40 stories up, with the elements pouring upon their face.
Nope.
Not bad at all.
"I agree, but I thought you couldn't teleport for a while. Will you be able to do it? I trust you and everything..." She had a point, Aternity could probably do a minor jump, but not 40 stories. "Oh yeah, I can do it." Aternity said, going to the edge of the roof with her and looking down. He'd purposely left out he couldn't jump half the way, only about 5-10 stories in this weather. At the very least, their momentum wouldn't kill them if he pulled this off. Aternity took the whole of his coat back and at first held Reira's hand for comfort. Mostly for his own sake.
At about this point, he wondered himself if he was crazy. Yeah, probably a little bit, but it had to be done. Besides, who didn't fancy a little base jumping in the middle of a freak storm? He couldn't think of too many people.
That were alive.
Time to roll. "Alright Reira..." He mentioned putting his glasses back on. "I recommend you hang on." At that moment, he took her other hand...
And jumped off the tower into freefall.
