"Ah, it's okay, sorry about that, I hadn't made physical contact with a girl in a while, especially someone as cute as you." As soon as she heard him call her cute her laughing stopped suddenly. It wasn't because she was desgusted with him for calling her cute, it was just odd. She had never been used to being called cute before, or having guys actually like her. The only boy that had ever been to close to her, before Matrim, was her friend Simon and he was pretty much her best friend back home. So having Riley call her cute, brought a noticeable blush on her cheeks.
She really wished she could think of something to say, but what was she supposed to say to that? Her eyes wandered to stare at her feet and she was relieved when she heard him break the silence. "But your powers...they're amazing!" he said with a smile. She could breath again.
"Thanks!" she said, able to look him in the face again. "I just hope I will be able to develop them further." The converstaion was normal again. "So, Riley, what would you like to do now? There's not much to do in a prison, but I'm sure two great minds could come up with something," she said with a laugh.
I wonder why I froze up like that? I never used to be like this back then. I was so.. I dunno..reserved..sorta gloomy. I guess that was because of my mother, and now that I know the truth..wow I can already see the change in my personality. I'm happier now.

The moment he had called her cute, Reira stopped laughing suddenly. Riley couldn't help but start panicking slightly. " Oh no, did I say something wrong? Was it rude of me to call her cute? Crap, I wish I didn't say that outloud." he thought, a slightly worried look starting to form on his face. During his moment of panicking, he noticed she was blushing, which added some embarrassment to his already panicky state. " Now I really wish I didn't say it! Aw man, I'm such an idiot!"
The mood however, didn't last long as he broke it with his comment about her powers. "Thanks! I just hope I will be able to develop them further." Riley sighed with relief, the mood was back to normal, thank goodness. "So, Riley, what would you like to do now? There's not much to do in a prison, but I'm sure two great minds could come up with something." Riley began to think, what could they do? Walls, cameras and guards couldn't hold him, but Reira wasn't as fortunate as him. She was stuck in this prison, which saddened him, he wished she had as much freedom as he did.
" Hmm, well, how about we walk around the grounds? I haven't really explored the place fully yet, hard to believe huh?" he answered, grinning. Despite all the free time he had, he hadn't see the entire school yet, strange but true. " Is that alright with you?" he asked, waiting for her answer.

"Hmm, well, how about we walk around the grounds? I haven't really explored the place fully yet, hard to believe huh?" It was very hard to believe actually, considering the fact that he was a ghost and where he could go was pretty much unlimited. "This place is pretty big actually, but sure, exploring sounds fun," she said getting up and placing her bag across her shoulder. It was getting late, and she knew she would have to part from him soon.
Thinking about where they should go, she came up with the perfect place. It was about that time of day anyway. The sun was just about to set, casting luminescent hues of reds, yellows, and organges. Beginning to walk at a leisurely pace, she looked to him and said..
"This school may be a prison, but the scenery is beautiful. I found this pond a while back..when the sunset hits the water, its like a picture perfect moment. I've always wanted to draw it. Wanna go?"
She continued to walk to the direction of the pond. It wasn't that far. Just a little bit deeper into the wood, through some over grown ferns and there it was. If he wanted to go some place else, that would be okay to, she wasn't picky with these sort of things.
She was glad he was her friend.. ..and she wouldn't forget that faithful tree where she first met him.

"This place is pretty big actually, but sure, exploring sounds fun." Well alright then, time to play explorer. He saw her get up and grab her bag, and standing up, followed her. As they walked, he saw her turn to him and ask him something. "This school may be a prison, but the scenery is beautiful. I found this pond a while back..when the sunset hits the water, its like a picture perfect moment. I've always wanted to draw it. Wanna go?"
" Sure." he replied, " I'm fine with it." Letting her lead the way through the forest, an idea came to him, a smile forming on his face. Moving beside, her, he tried to imitate a Australian accent, and began to speak. " G'day mate, we're here in the wild Japanese outback, heading towards unknown territory. Let's keep our wits about us yeah mate?" Going through some overgrown ferns, well, Riley drifted through them, they reached the spot Reira had told him about, he couldn't help but whistle.
" Crikey mate, that is one beautiful scene." he said, taking in the view. Going back to his normal voice, he turned his head to face Reira. " I'm glad...I got to see this place. Thank you." Riley said, smiling. " I'm...also glad you're my friend, the world...feels less lonely now that I can talk to someone."
Riley would not forget the tree where he had met her, not for a long time, the location was burned into his memory.

"G'day mate, we're here in the wild Japanese outback, heading towards unknown territory. Let's keep our wits about us yeah mate?" Reira found her arm wrap around her stomach as she laughed at Rileys impression of an Australian. It was very amusing to see a spirit, impersonate Steve Irwin. At least thats who came to her mind. She played along. "Aye mate! Maybe we'll see some spooky Japanese creatures!"
Laughing once more, she bounced her way through the ferns after Riley. Just like him, she gawked at the scenery, as if this was her first time seeing it. She always made the same reaction when she came here. It was almost as if the beauty renewed itself and captured the eyes of the beholder with new intensity every time. She agreed with Riley with a nod of her head. It was very beautiful.
The only thing different about this place was that the cherry blossom tree near the edge of the pond was in bloom, sending pink petals with the wind. "I'm glad...I got to see this place. Thank you." She stood under the cherry tree and caught a petal in her hand, twiddling it. "Your welcome!" she said enthusiastically. Perhaps she was a little too happy at the moment. It certainly had been a while since she last felt this way. She turned to face him.
"I'm glad your my---" "I'm...also glad you're my friend, the world...feels less lonely now that I can talk to someone." He stole the words right out of her mouth. "I'm glad your my friend to and I'm very thankful I met you." Reira then held her hand out towards him, her pinky sticking out. She activiated her Qi so that she could touch him.
"Now you have to pinky swear that we will stay friends," she said with a smile. Yeah, she knew that pinky swearing was very very childish. But that didn't stop her. Besides, if the person actually swallowed their pride to shake on it, the promise had to have meant something..right?

"Aye mate! Maybe we'll see some spooky Japanese creatures!" Riley couldn't help but laugh at what she said, she was playing along with him. He heard her laugh and they went through the last bit of ferns to reach the spot. As he stood there, admiring the view, he looked over and saw her gawkeing at it, which made him laugh, the expression on her face was priceless.
He then saw, on closer inspection, she was standing underneath a cherry blssom tree, and it was in bloom. Petals cascaded down from the tree like rain, as he saw her catch a petal in her hand, and played with it before answering him. "Your welcome!" Riley looked at the cherry tree, it really was quite beautiful, and Reira blended in with the scenery perfectly. " I should've brought a camera..." he grumbled jokingly, " Then I could take a picture of you!" He then broke into a grin, showing he was just playfully teasing her. He then saw her turn and face him to speak, but he had spoken before she did. "I'm glad your my---" After he had finished, she said what she was going to say before. "I'm glad your my friend to and I'm very thankful I met you." He then saw her stick her hand out, her pinky outstretched. Huh, what was she up to?
"Now you have to pinky swear that we will stay friends." Riley looked at her for a minute, almost like he didn't know what was going on, before breaking into a smile. " Hahaha, okay, I promise." he replied, sticking his own hand out, pinky out, and connected it with hers. " We'll stay friends no matter what." And that was the unshakable truth.

"Hahaha, okay, I promise. We'll stay friends no matter what." Reira let her hand fall from his. She smiled. "Good, I'll hold your word to it!" Riley was her friend. How far that friendship would go was unknown. She had never had a spirit friend before. At least, not one, that stuck around. One could only hope for the best. Anything could happen. No one knows for sure, just what the future has in store.
Breaking their eye contact, she once again glanced at the pond. She would definately need to come back here when she had more colours. She wanted to capture this scene into her sketchbook, so she would never forget the story behind the picture. All the sketches she drew had a story behind them.
She noticed the sun was setting rapidly behind the concrete wall. It was becoming dark, and if she wanted to get back to her dorm without tripping every two seconds over roots and other such things, she would have to start walking now. Her and Riley would have to say their goodbyes for the day.
"Suns almost gone. I should get going. If it's too dark, knowing me, I'll get hopelessly lost in these woods!" She said with a half smile. Turning her back on the pond, she began to tackle the mess of ferns. Riley didn't have to walk her through the woods, she could manage. If he really wanted to, of course he was welcome.
Halfway through the ferns, she stopped and looked over her shoulder at him. "If you wanted to, we could hang out in my dorm one day. I have a wicked selection of videogames we could play. You can manage playing videogames right?," she said with a grin. She was completely out of the ferns now. "BUT, you have to warn me before you go barging in there. A girl needs her privacy ya know!"
There had to be some place they could meet again. He was a spirit. Reira couldn't find them, they found her. If she ever had to talk to him, she couldn't just search him out, not yet at least. So at least her dorm could be somewhere he could always find her.

"Good, I'll hold your word to it!" Riley let his arm fall, and smiled at her. He now had a friend. Sure, he had friends when he was alive, but that was years ago, it gets lonely when nobody can see you. As he stood there, ne noticed the sun was setting rapidly, and twilight was sweeping across the school, meaning their time was up, for now. "Suns almost gone. I should get going. If it's too dark, knowing me, I'll get hopelessly lost in these woods!" Riley laughed, and grinned. " Yeah, and then I'll have to go look for you, otherwise your boyfriend might get worried..." he said, drifting off at the last part.
Oh crap, did he really say that? Crap crap crap. " Oh crap. did I really say that last part!? Arrgh, I'm such an idiot!" he cried out, turning away from Reira and smacking his forehead. " I'm such an idiot...I can't believe I actually said that..." he thought, cringing inside. As he turned his head slightly, he saw Reira was making her way through the ferns, maybe she didn't hear the last part? He prayed she didn't. Halfway through the ferns, he saw her turn and look at him over her shoulder. "If you wanted to, we could hang out in my dorm one day. I have a wicked selection of videogames we could play. You can manage playing videogames right?"
Haha, of course he could manage playing videogames, ghost or not, he still loved playing them. " You bet! And I'll kick your butt in them too!" he replied, grinning. "BUT, you have to warn me before you go barging in there. A girl needs her privacy ya know!" Okay okay, he got it. " Alright alright, I got the message. ShallI knock before entering? Shall I bow once I enter?" he asked teasingly. He saw she was already through the ferns, he knew she'd be fine, there was still some light out anyways. " Reira." he said, before he left. " I'll see you later." And with that, he flew away, heading towards his own dorm. What would a ghost need a dorm for? He didn't know, he was just given one, but hey, whatever right?

"Yeah, and then I'll have to go look for you, otherwise your boyfriend might get worried..." It was a little surprising for Riley to mention Matrim. What was even more surprising was the way he reacted after he had mentioned her boyfriend. He turned away from her quickly, scolding himself for being such an idiot, giving himself the occassionaly slap on the forehead. By this time, she had made it through the ferns.
She really didn't know how to respond to something like that. Let alone, understand the reason as to why it was so bad to mention that she had a boyfriend. "Your going to have a red handprint on your forehead if you keep that up. Besides, I don't let my boyfriend worry about me. I try not to depend on anyone...only myself." She said this in light tone. Before he could answer that however, she rolled right into her videogame question.
"You bet! And I'll kick your butt in them too!" She smiled at his enthusiasm and was happy the mood was back in check. "BUT, you have to warn me before you go barging in there. A girl needs her privacy ya know!" "Alright alright, I got the message. Shall I knock before entering? Shall I bow once I enter?" She laughed at this remark, picturing how silly he would look performing such things. "Yes, you have to curtsy and await permission from Mistress Reira before you enter her chambers, muahahaha!"
The two of them were pretty far apart now, seeing as how Reira had kept walking since leaving the ferns. Her voice was almost to the point of yelling, but not quite. "Reira. I'll see you later." She smiled, then nodded. "Yep, see you soon!," she said waving, watching Riley fly away at a great speed.
As she walked in the last remaining rays of the sun, her mind kept wandering back to the point in their conversation where Riley mentioned Matrim. I don't regret getting placed here in this prison. All the friends I have met here are definately worth it. Riley's worth it. But.. Could he.. Does he.. ...nah.. In an airy little mood, she walked back to her dorm, a small smile on her lips.

"You're going to have a red handprint on your forehead if you keep that up. Besides, I don't let my boyfriend worry about me. I try not to depend on anyone...only myself." Riley, after slapping his forehead, left his hand on his face, so that it covered his eyes. That didn't stop him from smiling slightly, yes, Reira was one tough girl, that much, he knew. " I know, I know you're independent, I'm sorry for what I said just now." Riley said quietly, slowly letting his hand fall from his face.
Reira however, moved right on, responding to his comment about him coming into her room and bowing. "Yes, you have to curtsy and await permission from Mistress Reira before you enter her chambers, muahahaha!" Riley grinned and laughed. " Yes, oh great Mistress Reira, I bow to your will. Command me oh great one!" he shouted back, laughing.
He then saw she was almost gone, and she had to shout goodbye, instead of saying it. "Yep, see you soon!" And with that, Riley flew off, not looking back. " Reira...I'm glad you're my friend. These feelings...will never be. My feelings will only be caring about you, making sure you're safe, nothing else. They won't ever escalate into anything else." he thought, flying away to his dorm.
END
OOC: No, it's not what you people are thinking. Riley does not love Reira, he cares about her as friend, nothing else, so there. Thread closed!
