She had been dragging Mat toward the doors when suddenly she had been scooped up in his arms. Lina didn't weigh too much for her height and frame. Her clothing was covered in paladin's blood, and her own. The red head's free hand clung onto his shirt for a moment in shock as they ran toward the doors. Startled icy blue eyes as he kicked them in. Knight in shining armor much?
And then they were being followed by a solider. Lina's mouth came open to let out a warning, but Mat was already on it. Kicking the man without letting go of her body. Shouting something about the gun. Which was now flying in the air toward the right of the two of them.
So Lina pivoted and leaned, twisting her body in his arms. Trusting him for the moment to keep her steady and there. Good arm reached as her legs clenched around his arm as an anchor as she went for the gun. Her fingers, halfway covered in fingerless leather gloves, closed around the metal of the gun. As soon as the gun was in her grasp, the tan skinned girl rolled her body back to Mat. Slim frame sliding back to where it had been, legs relaxing for a moment.
And then Lina started making sure there was ammo in the gun, making sure the safety was clicked off. The young girl then stared down the hall, the gun at the ready in case any of the enemy came running after them. But her head was pounding. It was hard to concentrate. Her head hurt so badly. She gritted her teeth and held on. No point in passing out right now. What could keep her up? Banter with Mat? That sounded just about right.
"My last name? I don't know if I should tell you! What do I get in return?"
Yes bantering with Mat would keep her mind sharp, and keep her awake long enough to shoot at anyone coming toward them. That was the important thing, right? Where ever Mat was taking them had to be safer than where they had come from. And it had better be decently soon, she felt like shit. Now she couldn't clap her free hand on her wound. Lina didn't trust her injured arm to aim correctly. She didn't want to hit Mat accidentally.
How would he react to the fact she was Natasha's daughter? Considering the woman had beat the holy shit out of him before they had met. And of course, her father was just as scary when he arrived here. If not more so. Honestly, she was more afraid of her father. That man had a scary side that very rarely came out.
"Where we headed to Mat?"
Her voice was laced with pain. She couldn't help it, Lina wasn't good at those sorts of things. Her emotions were drawn out easily when she was in pain, like now. Mat would be able to tell she was hanging on with all her might. She'd last, at least for a bit.
