Meeting of Two Minds (Matrim, Reira, Closed)

Alex stood in the courtyard surrounded by trees that was located near the Tower. He had just sent Matrim a text message, asking him to come to the courtyard after classes had ended for the day. The text message he had sent said,

Matrim,

Meet me in the courtyard surrounded by trees located near the Tower 5 minutes after classes are finished for the day. We have some things to...discuss.

Oh, and I suggest you bring along anyone you plan to escape with when you come. I'll see you then.

Alex took out a water bottle from his bag and took a drink from it, the sun was shining down relentlessly, but the trees surrounding him provided lots of shade, so it wasn't too hot. He was standing in front of a bench located underneath a tree, and classes had finished moments ago. As soon as he had finished, he immediately made his way to the courtyard, and found he was early, so he waited for Matrim to show up.

His message was clear, he did not like any surprises sprung at him, especially last-minute surprises. If Matrim wanted to escape with someone, Alex would need to know early, not later. Just the thought of it irritated him slightly, but he shook it off, now was the time to talk and plan, and plan they would, he and Matrim had much to... discuss.

OOC: Haha, did you see the irony in the title? It says two minds, even though there are three people since Matrim thinks Reira and him are one unit and....okay, I'll shut up now.

[Matrim]

Matrim was dodging out on classes, he had been recovering..... to say the least. He wore a button up shirt, buttoned up all of the way, and dark sunglasses to hide his discolored eye. He was still getting used to it all, and he was still having trouble accepting it.

Matrim sent a message back,

Yeah I guess your right. If I want to escape this boredom I should definitely get some company. Wouldn't want to compromise anything. After all you never know when a teachers listening in.

"Dumb ass......" Matrim said, suddenly realizing what Alex just did.

Don't risk sending text messages with information Alex...... that's a big no-no my friend. Not to mention I'm still paranoid about what Solaris can and can't hear. Is he even in my head? Have I compromised the mission?

Matrim shrugged it off and headed out to where they were supposed to meet when he was ready. He hoped his shirt hid the blue light well enough, it wasn't skin tight, so it hid the fact that something was protruding from his chest. His glasses on in front of his face, he walked out and saw Alex in front of the tree. He pulled out his MAC and sent Reira a text.

Hey boo-boo, no picnic basket, but if you want to talk to the ranger about getting out of this park, meet me in the courtyard surrounded by trees near the tower.

Matrim walked up to Alex, "Careful about what you put in those messages, and about everything we say here. Big brother might be watching."

[Alex]

As Alex stood there waiting, he felt his MAC vibrate, and upon pulling it out of his pocket, he saw he had a message from Matrim. The message said,

Yeah I guess your right. If I want to escape this boredom I should definitely get some company. Wouldn't want to compromise anything. After all you never know when a teachers listening in.

Too true, teachers could be listening, and Solaris could appear anywhere, which made it even more dangerous. There was only one place Alex knew of that Solaris would not appear in, even if he could appear anywhere, and that was where they would go once Matrim and anyone else he wanted to come with him arrive. Not long after that, he heard a voice behind him as he stowed his MAC away.

"Careful about what you put in those messages, and about everything we say here. Big brother might be watching." Alex turned around, and nodded his head. " Indeed, Big Brother may be watching. So to ensure we have some...privacy, we'll go to my room." Alex replied. "If anyone else is coming, I'll wait for them, you nor anyone can get in unless I'm with you, unless you'd like to be shot by live fire?" Alex added, a smirk playing on his face.

He saw Matrim was wearing sunglasses, and although it wasn't bright here, because of all the trees, Alex couldn't help but wonder why he was still wearing them. " I didn't know it was so bright here." he commented, his eyes clearly stating he was joking. He then folded his arms again and lapsed into silence, he was thinking of how to help Matrim escape, the plan would have to be clear, precise, and exact.

"The MAC can't be used for communication anymore, not with Solaris lurking around everywhere. We may have to resort to codes, but codes are breakable. Discussion may have to be done face to face, but with Matrim's new...upgrades, Solaris may or may not connect with him if he thought something is up." he thought, his expression clearly concentrating.

How did Alex know about Matrim? Let's just say, a little birdy told him. " I hope you sent a message to whoever is coming." Alex asked Matrim, not bothering to turn around, he would be patient, all things would happen in good time.

Reira had never scowled so much in her life. Okay, maybe she had, but today just seemed ridiculous. In every one of her classes, her teachers had assigned her long term projects that were worth a lot of marks. It was as if they all had conspired against her, just waiting to see her fail. With this attitude she could. Scowling once again, she dragged her book bag behind her, in her dorm hallway.

She was almost at her door when her MAC vibrated. Opening it, she found it was a message from Matrim. Texts never get old.

The message made her laugh slightly, lifting some of her bad mood. It looked like the plan was really going to take place. They were going to get out of here. What was the point in worrying about school if she was just going to run away from it? Smiling, she ditched her book bag in the hallway, while responding to Matrim and walking towards the redezvous.

Reira

In a much better mood, she finally made it to the place indicated in the text message she recieved. She recognized the two people sitting under the trees. Matrim and Alex. They seemed very serious. The plan was finally going to take form.

"Hey Mat, hey Alex. Let's get this over with, shall we?" she said standing beside Matrim.

"Hey Mat, hey Alex. Let's get this over with, shall we?" Alex, upon hearing that familiar voice, turned around immediately, and smiled slightly at Reira before his expression changed back to serious. He didn't want to act so serious, but this situation, was not exactly fun and games. " Both of you, follow me, we're going somewhere...more private." Alex said, before turning and heading towards the Hikari building where he stayed. He walked at a relatively quick pace through the forest, and minutes later, reached the building.

Making sure the two were still with him, he stopped in front of a screen, and allowed it to scan his retina, confirming his identity. The door opening, he motioned for the two of them to stay close to him. The door closing behind them, he walked through the hallway, and reached a guard standing in front of the elevator. Before the guard could say anything Alex spoke. " There two are with me." " Understood Master Hikari."

The guard then pushed a button and the door of the elevator opened, and he stepped aside, letting Alex go through, as well as Matrim and Reira. Alex pressed a button, and the door closed. The elevator began moving upward, and after a few minutes, reached the floor where Alex's room was. The doors opening, Alex stepped out, and made his way to his room, opening the door and letting the two in before going in himself.

" Welcome to Kane's Floor." Alex said immediately as soon as he closed his door. " As you can see, security is very tight here. No one besides a Hikari is allowed here, unless you have permission. Cameras are located outside in the halls, everywhere. Now, shall we move on to...our discussion?" Alex asked, sitting down at his desk chair, motioning for the two to sit wherever they pleased.

[Matrim]

Matrim sat in a chair facing Alex, having followed behind him with Reira, "Before we start, we have to remember that Solaris might be listening in, I seriously doubt he's listening now, usually I hear his voice when he does. He'll say some smart ass comment about something I hear or say to announce himself.... so if he comes I'll say something completely ridiculous and you'll know that he's listening in. Anyway, I'm trying to get Reira and myself out of here. I can give you the account information to my bank, that way we can have you get the cash we will be needing, don't worry about taking too much, I come from a pretty wealthy family, not Hikari industries rich, but definitely rock star rich."

Good ol Gramp's and Great uncle Noel. There band did pretty well, and my dad's solo stuff did alright too.

"The only thing I really am going to need from you besides that, is a distraction of some sort while we escape." Matrim said, looking over to Reira, he gave her a reassuring wink, then continued adding one last bit of information. "I don't want anyone killed over this. As I'm sure you don't either."

It wouldn't be bad if Artemis was killed, but I seriously doubt that's going to happen.

[Reira]

Reira returned Alex's smile with a small one of her own. It was very small, as this was a serious matter. Any previous mirth she was feeling while walking here was gone. The serious vibes bouncing off Matrim and Alex were contagious. Alex then announced that they were going to talk somewhere more private. A very good idea. Following behind him and Matrim, Reira followed, thoughts rummaging.

When Reira had entered the Hikari building, she felt very out of place. She was a punk attired girl with pink hair standing in an intimidating and powerful area. She knew that Alex was Kane Hikari's son, but the thought of him being Kane Hikari's son, never really hit her, until now. The place was very impressive, high tech, with lots of security.

"Welcome to Kane's Floor," Alex announced once they stepped out of the elevator and entered his room. She took her seat beside Matrim, facing Alex who was seated in his desk. It was hard to believe this was the same Alex she had seen a movie with. He seemed much older and sophisticated now, funny how that can happen sometimes.

It was Matrim's turn to speak. He was warning them about the possible pressence of Solaris in his mind, something Reira remembered all to well. The image of Solaris snapping his fingers to knock Matrim out cold, reran in her mind. That could prove a huge problem, if they weren't careful.

"The only thing I really am going to need from you besides that, is a distraction of some sort, while we escape." Matrim said, winking at her. She grinned slightly."I don't want anyone killed over this. As I'm sure you don't either."

"I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt either..or left behind," she said giving Matrim a stern look. He knew what she was talking about. Sighing she continued. "It aslo feels like I'm just tagging along. You two seem to be doing all the work. I want something to do to help out aswell. Just because I'm a girl, doesn't mean I need to be protected all the time. I'm quite capable, I want some part in this." She was serious.

I don't want to feel useless..I hate that.

[Aternity]

Solaris' calculus class wasn't too boring, but to Aternity, jumping out and skipping wasn't the best of ideas. While it was possible, skipping out on his big brother's class wasn't just a bad idea, it was a terrible idea. The little chip that was planted in his spine had some neat little features, although unfortunately, it did have some...spyware in the thing so to speak. He'd been tracked once before, and zapped in the back for trespassing on restricted ground. He probably deserved it, so there was no second try.

Even Solaris still called him 'Mr. Awren', a rather amusing gesture. His outside life and class life apparently didn't integrate too well.

Okay, that's it. There should be only one reason he could hear voices right now. The AI Mindlink. Aternity started broadcasting a secure reply to the source of the link signal.

"Okay, who the hell is trying to talk to me?" Only Lunari and Solaris were known to have the chip that allowed the link...so who else had one?

OOC: Solaris CAN access Kane's room, even the inner sanctum in his physical form, as Will and Testimony proved without incident. Be warned.

Alex nodded at what Matrim said, but truth be told, he wasn't too worried about the AI popping in here any time soon. " About Solaris, I assure you, he won't come here anytime, not unless he had a good reason to." Alex said, although what Matrim said about Solaris being in his head gave him a small bit of worry, but he moved on to more pressing matters. Talking was no problem, but thoughts, were a different story, his room was not AI link thought proof. That chip that was in Matrim linked him to Solaris, and possibly every Awren in the entire school. As long as Matrim did not think about the plan, it would be alright. " I also must warn you, thoughts that are connected to someone else can still be heard, so it's better to speak or even write, if you must." he finished, hinting he knew about the chip placed in Matrim, though he left it at that as Matrim began to talk.

Pulling out a small key, he then moved over to a scroll that was framed on his wall, and moved it, revealing a safe behind it. Blocking the combination lock from Reira and Matrim, he twisted the lock back and forth, giving the combo, and then inserted the key, opening the safe. Pulling out his ID that was laminated, he closed the safe and reseted the combination. Turning back around to face them, he showed them his ID. " This, is my personal ID. Only one other person has this kind of ID. This ID allows me to leave the prison whenever I freely chose. The ID had his picture on it, and the Hikari Industries emblem on it. " All I have to do is show this ID to the guards, and they let me leave whenever I want." Alex explained, sitting back down in his desk chair.

Alex asked, looking at them, his plan, was possibly the most simple but effective way for them to escape. How they took it, would remain to be seen.

He didn't pause once while speaking, and it was a normal sentence, within it, carefully hidden so that nobody would hear it except people tapped in mentally and listening in to his thoughts. He would have congratulated himself, but he was a little preoccupied with the voices.

If you can hear my thoughts, listen well. Solaris Awren effed up my head, making me all schizo and able to hear voices. So I don't know how to work this thing, but if you cant shut it off so nobody can listen in, I'm going to grab onto the signal and physically live inside your head and see how you like the migraine's.

He was a little irritated.... could he do it? No, would he try regardless? You bet your ass. Matrim then looked up and said out loud, "I'm shocked, and taken back that this didn't turn into some school riot, but mostly, I'm glad that you found a way that seems so obvious and yet so...... I'm in. Let's do this, what do you think, Reira?"

So they didn't have to worry about Solaris for the moment. That was good to hear. She'd hate to imagine what sort of punishment he would put them through if he caught them schemeing. It definately wouldn't be nice, what punishment ever was. As for the chip that was implanted in Matrim's head, well, she could do nothing but trust him to work around that.

The two boys continued to talk among one another. Reira remained quiet. She would speak when she needed to. It was better for her to listen and make sure she understood everything, then confuse herself with more questions. When Matrim mentioned the need of a distraction, and she metioned the desire to have more of a part in this, Alex simply answered "A distraction huh? I don't think we'll be needing one."

How could you possibly escape this place without a distration?! Instead of asking this questions, she remained to her theory and remained quiet. Alex then pulled out a small key, that belonged to a hidden safe in his wall. He purposely blocked her veiw of the combination. After a moment he, turned around with an ID card. A card that would allow safe passage out of here. Reira beemed.

"My idea, if you two want to get out without any fuss, is simple. You'll have to temporarily become a part of Hikari Industries. Because my father is now dead, my sister and I, are now in charge of the company. "So let me get this straight, out of every possible scenario of mine, the one thing that none of my plans seemed to have was the possibility that we could just walk out the front door without a hitch. I say go ahead." Alex smiled, so Matrim was on board, how about Reira? "This is a much better plan, then I was expecting! I'm in! Hands down...as long as..I don't have to fetch you coffee every hour as your assistant." Excellent, so she was on board too. " Good, that's good. I'll begin the preparations right away. Oh, and you won't have to worry about fetching me coffee, try water or pop and we'll call it a day." he retorted, a smirk on his face.

"You already know my answer. I think, we should get started ASAP. What do you think Alex? When should we start this whole..assistant thing?" "Well, now that you two are on board, I may as well tell you now. The procedures, involve individual interviews. Not just any interview. A interview with me, and two of the second-in-commands of Hikari Industries. I will be doing all the talking, but keep in mind, the two others will be watching every move you make, every sentence you say, scutinizing every move. They will not talk, but they will be watching. I have to tell you now, because once the interviews are set, I won't have any time to warn you beforehand." Alex told them, as he folded his arms.

" I'll be making and asking all the questions, and I don't want to send it via MAC, so I'll send it the old fashion way, a note. It'll be just a blank piece of paper, nothing written on it, because I'll have written it in invisible ink. All you have to do is be able to reveal it, and make sure you know what your answers are. The interview is the biggest part, everything else is not as important, do you two understand?" Alex asked them, as he stood up. " When the interviews have been scheduled and finalized, I'll be sending you both a text message. The message will be simple, but will get the point across. You two just have to get here, to Kane's Floor, on time, alright?" Alex asked them folding his arms again.

" Reira, could you stay back for a little longer? I have something to discuss with you." Alex suddenly said, turning to them. He knew Matrim would be wondering what it is he wanted to ask, but Alex needed Matrim to trust him. " Matrim, you can go, you can wait in the guest lounge downstairs. I'll tell a guard to escort you there." Alex added, pulling out his MAC and sending one of the guards a message. " The guard'll be here shortly." Alex said, placing his MAC away. He once again looked straight at Matrim, his eyes clearly saying "Trust me."

A knock on the door broke the silence, and Alex opened the door, the guard standing in front of the doorway. " You called Master Hikari?" " Yes, please escort this young man to the guest lounge. I'll send another message when I need you again." " Understood sir." " Well Matrim, I'll see you later then." Alex said, turning to Matrim and nodding his head slightly at him.

Aternity twiddled his pencil. "All you have to do is think about who you want to talk to, and then emphasize your thoughts. I'm sure Solaris can hear and see out your ears and eyes though being the core and all. While were talking, when are we supposed to meet again anyway?"

"Yeah, sure thing," Matrim said, half hearing what Alex said about waiting outside and Reira staying behind, Matrim nodded at Reira reassuringly letting her know she was safe with Alex. He trusted Alex, he was one of the few people he could trust. Plus, this would keep people out of harms way.

Got it Aternity, I should hope soon, tell you the truth I want to spar a bit with everyone in the gang. Already fought Alex, so not much to learn about him there, but I enjoy fighting I guess. But I will ask Alex once he's done with Reira, I guess there was something they needed to talk about while I waited outside. The main question I have is why I have to wait outside, that is, instead of being able to stay inside and listen in.

Matrim didn't care if they talked or hung out, he wasn't jealous or anything. But being asked to wait outside? That just made him feel left out of something. And if it was something cool for Reira, he wanted to be there for her. And for him, because he enjoyed Reira's company.

"This is the waiting area I presume..." Matrim asked the security guard as they made their way to a room with a few chairs and sofa's and a coffee table, "A bit empty, suppose not many people need to come here."

The guard gave a questioning look to Matrim as if wondering why Matrim was talking to Alex anyway, "Boy you're the talkative one."

Matrim thought about practicing his mind link, with Solaris himself now that he couldn't over hear anything.

He thought about Solaris and then emphasized his thoughts.

Hey Solaris, whats this about you being able to hear what I hear, see what I see, and smell what I smell? Actually, he didn't mention smell, can you smell my smells? .......... can you smell at all?

"Now, integrals are a little more difficult than differential calculus." Solaris explained to the class, using the computer to display certain examples of definite and indefinite integrals. "The 'S' symbol you see here does have a meaning, it's not just a fancy symbol. In fact, it means 'Sum'." Solaris put the symbol on the board, along with a graph and corrisponding equasion. A simple X² graph. "The sum in a definite integral refers to the area underneath the graph between two points, or limits."

Oh come on! Did Matrim really feel the need to figure out this link right now? While he was teaching? Apparently he did, so Solaris started sending signals back, all the while still maintaining his stride through the class.

"Well, if you must know, I CAN if I so choose to see through your eyes, and hear what your ears pick up, you know, electrical signals in nerves and all. As for smells, not yet I'm afraid, although that would be rather amusing..."

Solaris stopped to think for a moment...

"Wait a second, why are you asking this now? Are you up to something?"
