Ghost Hunters (Reira)

[Reira]

The ride in the TARDIS went much more smoother then Reira thought it would be. She suddenly felt embarassed about grabbing onto Matrim's arm.

This is amazing, a machine that can actually rip through time and space taking you to wherever you need to be. Even back in time eh... hmmm..

When the ride was over, which didn't take long at all, the Doctor told them to hurry and get off the machine. Matrim grabbed onto her hand and lead her out, into the rainfilled cemetary.

The rain quickly soaked Reira from head to toe, but she didn't mind it. For some reason she thought it was suitable that it would be raining today out of all days. They walked upon row after row of gravestones until they came to the one they were looking for.

Swiping her wet bangs out of her eyes, Reira read the markings on the stone. Here Lies Luke Gallagher. Loving Son, Father, and Friend. Silently she paid her respects as Matrim found a letter that was bound by plastic covering.

"I think this will mean more to you then it will to me. Besides, I think you should be the first to know where she is. Read it aloud if you want."

Hesitantly she took the letter from his hands and placed it inside her zip up hoodie. "I'll read it somewhere dry, I don't want it to get damaged."

Kneeling in the soaked grass, she stroked one of the flower petals that were left at Luke's grave. "I wonder who left him such pretty flowers."

Luke was telling the truth. Of course he was, I never doubted that he wasn't...but I wish he were lying about the Jordan part...

"I wish we could stay a bit longer, but we already troubled the Doctor enough...should we head back?," she asked, touching the letter inside her hoodie.

[Matrim]

Matrim looked and looked trying to see if somebody was there, but he couldn't see anyone.

"I'll read it somewhere dry, I don't want it to get damaged. I wonder who left him such pretty flowers. I wish we could stay a bit longer, but we already troubled the Doctor enough...should we head back?"

"Yeah....."

These are his flowers....... the man my father wronged.... my father left him these type of flowers at his bedside..... is it possible Doc forgived him?

Matrim knew this man, he had once met him. His father found out the man was actually a doctor of sorts, they made their peace and ended up being very good friends. The man became Luke's doctor, and would give Matrim his father's medicine. The medicine didn't seem to work though, and originally Matrim was going to go to live with the Doctor, but he needed some time and space.

"These are my uncles... not my real uncle, just a friend of my fathers. Uncle Jordan...." Matrim said smiling, he picked up the flowers, "I'm gonna take these with me.... Dad's passed anyway, and they remind me of my uncle."

Jordan was their family Doctor, he specialized in heart disease, and the Gallagher family had plenty of that to treat afterall. "Lets go."

Matrim lead the way back to the TARDIS in a better mood. A little bit of home did him good. He missed his dad, but he had already let that go. As the rain started to let up he took one last breath of England air before making his way towards the TARDIS.

[Reira]

"These are my uncles... not my real uncle, just a friend of my fathers. Uncle Jordan.... I'm gonna take these with me.... Dad's passed anyway, and they remind me of my uncle."

Reira stopped herself from making a shocked expression. Could he be talking about the Jordan that Luke was talking about. She thought he said that Matrim hated that Jordan...but he was smiling as he picked up the flowers. She was becoming confused really fast.

"I think Luke was told me about him briefly...," she said this softely, not really knowing if he could hear her or not. Matrim was a little ways ahead of her, making his way to the TARDIS.

I'll tell him everything Luke said to me. It's not fair to keep it from him...*sigh*

The two walked in further silenced as the rain let up. She found herself taking out the letter from under her hoodie and removing it from the plastic covering. It was in perfect condition, and since it was only a slight drizzle she was confident the words wouldn't get damaged.

Reira read the letter out loud.

Dear Matrim,

I hope you recieve this letter, if not, then I guess my words will be wasted. Better wasted then not said at all. What I really feel the need to say, is how sorry I am for putting you through everything I did. I never got the chance to tell Luke how sorry I was, so I'm really hoping you get this letter.

The only reason I left 253 was because Rias and Pierre had found Demitri and through Demitri they had found my family and I. So we went on the run. We ran to Paris.

It was there I met my husband and had a daughter, Reira. I hope you have the chance to meet her, she is quite the young woman. I also hope we get the chance to meet again. It is probably not likely though, for I'm still on the run, I had to leave my daughter and husband behind in Paris to protect them.

It was a close call. Rias has killed my parents, so it is just Demitri and I now. We are currently in Egypt. We move around a lot so I don't know how long we will be here. But I am ranting...it's just nice thinking you could be reading this. Anyways I'm sorry, pleaes forgive me....I hope Luke is in a better place...and I hope my daughter is doing fine.

I miss her, I miss you.

Reira folded the letter back up and placed it in the envelope. "It seems this letter was supposed to go to the Vice Principle Matrim."

Well..now I know the truth. I know my mother is in Egypt. She's probably not there now, who knows how long this letter has been sitting by the grave. I don't know what to think anymore. I feel empty...my grandparents are dead...I want ..I want to see Rias dead to!

[Matrim]

"I think Luke was told me about him briefly...,"

Reira then took out the letter and read it. Matrim listened to every word and became particularly interested seeing as he didn't know much about Rias or Pierre or any of those names. He realized the letter wasn't meant for him. Afterall, how would she have known about Matt. Matt felt sorry for Reira, she found out about her grandparents through this letter and not in person.

"Sorry about your family, but now we know where your mother is.... sorta..." The truth was there was no telling how long that letter had been there, chances were it was relatively soon, but Matt couldn't be too sure. He wasn't sure what to do in a situation like this. He wasn't exactly one for initiating a hug, or anything of that sort. He felt too akward, so he kept his arms crossed in front of his chest leading towards the TARDIS. He suddenly remembered she mentioned his father and Jordan.

"Yeah, it's really likely. They got into a fight when they were kids, Jordan ended up in a coma. Eventually Jordan woke up and wanted to get back at my dad, but in the end he forgave my dad. He started studying up and became a... cardiologist? That's the word for a heart doctor right? I space stuff like that sometimes," Matrim took a step into the TARDIS waving at the Doctor who was standing outside leaning against the blue police box, "He handled my fathers heart disease case, he saw the disease in his heart really quickly and even perscribed him medicine that should have helped, but in the end my dad still died. Jordan gave me some medicine too since it was hereditary. Come to think of it... Jordan treated my grandfather before he had his heart attack...."

Jordan's got bad luck having my family for patience. Thank God I'm getting treatement this early on though.... I'd hate to go down with the same heart disease as the rest of my family.

[Reira]

It was settled then. Reira would never find her mother, she couldn't no matter how hard she she tried. There was just no way, and she came to accept the fact that there was no hope she would ever see her mother again. She was used to not having her mother around, might as well keep it that way.

What bothered her now, was all the hate she previously felt towards Samara. She regretted feeling like that, but sometimes emotions were hard to control. Just like the emotion she was feeling now. She was soo angry at Rias, that she was completely calm. It was Matrim's voice that kept her in check.

"You don't need to apologize for something that is not your fault...but thanks." She continued to follow him as he spoke about Jordan.

Strange. Jordan sounds like a good person who cared about Matrim and his family. I don't know why Luke would warn me about him. Weren't these his exact words. "Listen girl..... Jordan is coming..... don't know if you know Jordan..... he's my murderer..... my son's a killer now..... I don't want him to kill Jordan...... you have to keep this a secret..... but Jordan's coming for him..... It's only a matter of time..... before Jordan get's there..... please.... protect my son.... don't let him kill again.... not in cold blood..... "

"Wait a second.." She said, stepping into the TARDIS before the Doctor. A sudden realization struck her dead in the chest.

JORDAN KILLED LUKE! I can belived I totally went looked that over. ...he's my murderer... What was I thinking...why didn't my brain interrpret that! I guess its because I was so worked up about finding my mother, seeing Luke, and worrying about Matrim. But it all makes sense now..Jordan treated Luke for his heart condition..but if Jordan killed Luke..it had to be the medicine he was taking! Am I jumping to conlcusions?...Ack..this is why I forget important information, I over think!

"Um maybe you should get off your pills! I mean, I know that sounds like a stupid thing to do, but maybe you could get another doctor, other then Jordan, to get you new pills!"

Reira realized they were probably looking at her like she was stupid. Sighing she said. "Jordan killed your father! And I think he did it with the heart medicine he prescribed for Luke...I know it sounds crazy.. and I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before, but this is what Luke said."

She repeated Luke's words, not really knowing where any of this was going.

[Matrim]

"Wait a second.. Um maybe you should get off your pills! I mean, I know that sounds like a stupid thing to do, but maybe you could get another doctor, other then Jordan, to get you new pills!"

"Uhm..... why?" Matrim said sorta feeling like she was a little paranoid about Jordan for no reason. That is, unless she knew something that Matrim didn't.

"Jordan killed your father! And I think he did it with the heart medicine he prescribed for Luke...I know it sounds crazy.. and I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before, but this is what Luke said."

"But.... they forgave each other!" Matrim said, "My father took that medicine for three years until his death five years ago Reira.... "

Matrim fell to his knees, he started to panick. Something he wasn't used to doing, something he was definitely never used to doing. Matrim's father panicked a little before his death also, and started saying stuff that didn't make sense. Of course, Matrim shouldn't have panicked, it was the wrong thing to do with his family illness, that was one thing they were told not to do was to panic. Although Matrim had a reason to panic.

Eight years.......... eight fucking years............

"No......." Matrim said his heart rate increased, and the bad medicine started adding to it.

Is this why he didn't want me to know? He didn't want me to panic..... because if I panic......

"Doc.... get us home now......" Matrim said, his heart sped up and sped up increasingly, he wasn't sure but he thought he knew what was going on, "Dad took Jordan's medicine for three years Reira..... three years......."

Matrim cried from the pain in his chest, the Panic was setting in, was it the trigger that set off this illness? Would he have a heart attack everytime he panicked?

"I've been taking it for eight......" Matrim said, he fell on his face, the last thing he saw before he blacked out was the Doctor taking them back into the school, he saw the doors of the TARDIS fly open to reveal the Infirmary, he rolled up and said to Reira, "Kiss for good luck?"

He laughed a few times and slowly faded into unconciousness.

I knew getting a girlfriend was too good to be true.....

[Reira]

"My father took that medicine for three years until his death five years ago Reira.... "

The way he said her name made her shiver with fear. It was like you could hear that something terrible was about to happen in his tone. She wrapped her arms around herself, as her body stiffened. "Are you...okay?" It was like the calm before the storm. A truely aweful feeling.

"Matrim!" Reira screamed, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding. When he fell to his knees, she stumbled beside him. She placed a hand on his shoulders and the other to his chest. "Does it hurt?" There was fear and worry in her voice. It only increased when she felt his heart beat rise.

What have I done! Luke told me not to tell him! But I had to go and open my big mouth and now look! Matrims on the verge of..I dont know, but it has something to do with his heart! Stupid! I'm so stupid!

"Dad took Jordan's medicine for three years Reira..... three years......."
"Shh, don't force yourself to speak," she said with a forced smile.

When Matrim cried out in pain, it took all her will power to not cry out in panick with him. She had never been so scared in her life. What could she do? She wanted to hug him, but that obviously wouldn't be any help. Luke trusted her to protect him, and she failed him utterly...beacause what could she do...nothing.

"I've been taking it for eight......"
"Please..don't try to talk----Matrim!"

Reira managed to break some of his fall, by easing his way to the floor. Her face was now looming over his. "Hey you still with me! You better be still with me!," she said, as her voice cracked. Tears were threatening to fall. She rested her forehead on his gently and smiled at his last comment.
Bending her head forward ever so slighly, she placed a tender kiss on his lips.

"You still with me," she asked deaf ears. Her eyes widened as she noticed that he was unconcious. "Doc, Doc!" She screamed, her breath shortening. She was in full panick now..she didn't even notice they were at the infirmary.
